disheveledI'll likely size up to an xl for the length. Measurements for an xl look similar to my SExIH type III

disheveled if I do end up getting one I will size up to an XXL, yes. I've sized up on my other two IH truckers and it works out perfect. I'm also almost always a size bigger than Gile on the jackets so considering he's an XL in this then it makes sense as well that I'll be an XXL. We shall see. It might not even be an issue considering these things will be gone in a flash IMO so I'll be lucky to get one.

I'm sizing up because the chest measurement looks too close for comfort in large, even if it is one wash. I also like that the sleeves are slightly shorter and the option to layer is a bonus.

Any Samurai enthusiasts in here? I myself am completely ignorant of their offerings having been reluctant with typical sizing concerns, etc. and well IH have quelled my denim curiosities for the last few years. Never really seen any relevant comparisons between the two brands other than IH owning the heavyweight game to a large extant. Would love to have at least one pair from them or Oni/PPJ(again sizing peculiarities ugh).

Ok more to the point, ickes and/or@disheveled any thoughts that would add a relevant vein of luminosity to the thread.

It was nice when BiG carried Sammy. Now it's a bit of a shit show finding good measurements. They still carry some of the Oni fits, but not nearly all. I'd say in general terms for fit:
BiG > Tate & Yoko > OD > Denimio > RB/Rakuten
However I've had all of those options measure individual pairs before, so if you find a fit that seems like it will work, you can find specific details relatively easily.
You can also dial things in pretty well with all Oni and Sammy (and PBJ for that matter) being unsanforized.

Ok more to the point, ickes and/or@disheveled any thoughts that would add a relevant vein of luminosity to the thread. I don't own any Samurais. Oni's are cool....only owned one cut and fabric which was the 517xxBE. Very nice fit and cool fabric. I don't think they even make that cut anymore. The one thing that annoys me about Oni is that I swear it seems like they make a new cut every time they do a new production run of any fabric. I got bogged down trying to figure out all of the cuts and numbers and blah....I might be blowing it out of proportion but I know I've tried to find the 517 cut again and haven't had much luck and I can just remember seeing what felt like 10 different fit options. I would buy another pair. Construction is nowhere near IH level but it's good enough. Fabrics have all kinds of character and fade nice. I'm not crazy about the arcs on the back pockets but it's doable.

Yeah their shirts weren't too inspiring. The Samurai measurements do seem to be all over the place. Just generally curious how the heavyweight stuff compares to the IH stuff from IH enthusiasts and the like. disheveled not owning a pair of Samurai's is all I need to know haha. Suppose it does get more interesting with the lighter weight comparisons and more IH light weight offerings down the pipe. Idk pretty tough to beat the IH 14oz OD. Would be nice to have some jeans for the summer. Thanks.

I don't mind the arcuates, but do have one pair from BiG without them. I gather Denimio can deliver them either way. You might add Tanuki to your list, jDub. They're on Blue Owl and Godspeed if you want to double check Deninio's measurements. You guys do seem to prefer sanforized though, so moving on...

546 is the same as 517? I wasn't aware. I'll look in to whats available in a 546. Prime example of their confusing fits right there, two different ID numbers for the same cut.

Not sure why they do different numbers for different weights. Samurai seems to stick to the same numbers but changes the fit for each weight. Both drive me crazy.

I actually prefer unsanforized after having a pair of IH UHR, however, even with their predictability they shrunk more than anticipated. Unsanforized are tricky for sure but man the character is second to none. Seems unnecessarily esoteric with the sizing with stated folks. Appears their "limited" and "anniversary" fits too are confusing.

All of the anniversary ones seem to be straight cuts or at least very slightly tapered. Easy pass.

Would be nice to have some jeans for the summer. Thanks. Ih heavy stuff is not as "out there", not as "loud". The UHR has more character. But the 21oz and 25oz does not. They both fade great and are a fine denim. Samurai fades with great speed and puckers like no other. The zero denim has a rough handfeel and fades well vertically. Samurai also has great fabric. But it is cotton stitching. I like this and how it ages, some don't and want longevity. Both brands are awesome, try both at some point. Samurai "feels" more Japanese to me and I like their arcs more. Cool patch too. Can't beat either brand.

Jdub6 IH NEW 14oz denim is due out this Summer--double wrapped weft like their 21oz fabric so should be something special!??!

Jdub6 IH NEW 14oz denim is due out this Summer--double wrapped weft like their 21oz fabric so should be something special!??! It should be a nice little tweak to their current 14oz denim. This will make it an even better pair for the summer as it should be super breathable like their 21oz denim and have a nice amount of give to the fabric with a soft touch. At least that's what I'm guessing.

Why is this shirt growing on me? Dude, those snaps put a great shirt over the top bad ass. This caught my eye when it was released, but I like the copper so much better than permex. Thinking hard on doing the same thing with black/indigo wabash. Again they've been on my radar for years, but these big copper snaps are my huckleberry apparently!

I strongly urge you to get the black wabash (IHSH-62). That shirt is just plain bad ass. So slick and sharp but bad ass and rugged at the same time.

I was leaning towards the black, but was still torn, so thanks for the encouragement. Do you own both or just black? Just the black. I was like you I had been wanting to get it for a few years now but always put it on the backburner because all the seasonal drops kept taking precedence, but I finally picked one up just a few weeks ago. It's bad ass. What's neat about it too is the dots on the black wabash are actually a light brown, not white. Looks killer.
