disheveled So now that you have the IHW-13 in your hand, do you feel the price of $775 is justified? I'm on the fence as I really like the look of it and I'm sure the quality is ridiculous. I would love to pay $500 for this, but $775 seems pretty steep. Anyone else have thoughts on the price? I suppose if you really wanted to pick one up, you could try to proxy one from Japan, but the opportunity closes quickly as they sell out of your size. On the other hand, the jacket will last a lifetime, and you'll get over the price after a few wears. I haven't bought anything IH since they cut sales from Rakuten, but even then, the stuff wasn't inexpensive. I do love, and regularly wear all my IH gear though, so you would get over the price, and better than later on wishing you would have bought the damn thing. |

It still mildly irks me this middleman called Giles blocks people from buying IH at the true Japan retail prices. I'm not sure I can get past that. IHJP has this for 5-something, so it really doesn't feel great forking over money to IH-UK at an inflated price. I think I'm going to pass based on principle. |

Man that IHW-13 is dope the more you look at it. Would likely pickup if I was back in upstate NY. Looks a wee bit warm for KY though.
Only thing that I don't prefer is the hood in collar provided it prevents the collar from folding nicely.

Went through the same crisis when buying the 18oz overdyed CPO (ihsh-178) because $425 was outrageous (waited for the selfedge sale but still) but it's one of my all time favorite IH pieces and looking back I'm SOOOO happy I bit the bullet.
I'm with you on the hood jdub, absolutely hideous, same with my Corridor waxed m65--have never taken it out and will never. Kinda adds a touch of tacti-cool technicality with the zipper but yeah dont think the collar will fold well with it.

Haraki made the decision to shut down online sales in Japan himself. I was pretty shocked when he told me of his decision and I asked him if he was 100% sure that is what he wanted to do. He confirmed that he was, and said that he was doing it to protect his brand. Re: The reason we sell in the west at more than Japan retail is pretty simple retail 101. Fair enough Giles, and I truly had no idea you would respond to this. I'm sure you can understand that from a consumer's standpoint, it is not optimal to pay > $200 extra for an item that retails (retail, not even sale price) on a publically available website for all to see in another country. In the end, we all make our own choices on what to buy and what not to buy. I do really love the look of the jacket though and I'm sure it's extremely well-made.

They look great!! I've been wanting to get a pair in this fabric for at least two years now but never have pulled the trigger. I might have to considering the outlet price. disheveled did you size up at all on these? That low rise is almost a deal breaker for me unless I size up. |

Thanks man, def happy with the fit in this denim. I sized normaly (32) could not have sized down like I could have with my 14oz, but sizing up would be fine for me with this thick 21oz denim.

Any idea why these didn’t sell initially and are now in the outlet? I’m good on jeans for the time being, but if anything could get me to buy another it would be this deal.

Any idea why these didn’t sell initially and are now in the outlet? I’m good on jeans for the time being, but if anything could get me to buy another it would be this deal. Not sure why, maybe timing, maybe their slow fading nature, but the cut is cool and the 21oz selvedge is their flagship denim for a reason. The color was a major selling point for me--Im good on black and indigo jeans, but this sulpher dyed is def its own beast. |

I just find there's a significant difference in the way my heavier MiJ jeans wear than my heavier Gustins. Of course I think a little has to do with loose weave, unsanforized. I don't own any heavier sanforized or tight weave denim. |

17oz range is the best overall weight I think (when it has a loose weave).
I don't care how soft ih 21oz is, when they are that tight they ain't comfortable.
You have the build for them though.
