Btw, Giles' kanreki bday party is looking like a lot of fun. Would have been cool to make it out but unfortunately I couldn't. I believe @untucked is en route. Cool to see all the pics of everyone over on the IH forum. Really shows the sense of family there is with that brand.

Wowzers!!!!! What an amazing weekend! Even through all of the hassle it took to get there (And still traveling back home), it was well worth it. Definitely the best birthday party I've ever been to. Met lots of guys from the IH forum, lots of the retailers, Giles and Haraki san (Of course), and my favorite person by far (And now adopted mother), Paula. On top of the amazing venue, live band karaoke, seemingly limitless drinks and more bro-hugs than I've had in the past decade, I got a little bit of swap meet action, and scored a sweet Alexander Leathers X Iron Heart vest for my IHV-26.  |

I think they were "talking their book" about the aspero, plus that year they had released an enormous amount of UHFs. I think a person would have spent close to 3-4 grand on flannel shirts, if you bought them all that year.

I don't know that it was a matter of aspero cotton supplies drying up or just that it was becoming increasingly expensive but yes, there was talk of no longer doing UHF's. I'm assuming the sax will be an UHF since it's a 107. |

OD cpo jacket arrived. It fits like a dream and feels like armor. The OD process tightens up the denim so much it currently squeaks a bit like a new leather jacket when I bend my my elbows--fun little quirk. The pockets and the rest of the twill accents are great. Really looking forward to watching it develop. Come on fall!

Nice @untucked . Looked like a blast. How cool was it meeting Giles, Haraki, and crew??? ***Man, I thought I had replied to this on Tapatalk, but I just realized that the beer must have kept me from pressing send. As expected, it was a quite busy event, so obviously they were preoccupied entertaining nearly 200 guests (At it's peak), but all in all, it was wonderful and they're are truly wonderful people. I met so many forum bros, so many brand owners, so many retailers... Menswear overload, definitely. After meeting Giles in person, his posts and replies on the forum make far more sense. I have a feel for his personality, and I'll say he's definitely a person that needs to be met in person to fully "get him". Haraki san... Well, I did meet him, and by virtue of a translator (Sarina san), had a bit of conversation about the possibilities of altering the IHV-26 (Which proved to be infeasible, so I traded it, as seen above). Either way, he doesn't speak much English, and I speak even less Japanese (I know, I know.... My wife is Japanese..... I'm a lazy bastard), so the convo was limited. But, and funny little story: When I met him and introduced myself, he said "Oooooh! Iron Heart Okinawa", lol! I guess my fervent shopping habits didn't go unnoticed, lol. Paula..... Paula is awesome! I got to spend about an hour 1 on 1 with her, and my goodness. Such a kind and sweet woman. We talked about seemingly everything except clothes/Iron Heart. If for no other reason, she alone is a good enough reason for my wife and I to make a trip to Gosport and visit again. Actually, we've already been invited back for Christmas, but I'm fairly sure we'll make it in before that, as well. ----- Overall, a wonderful trip. The Stubborn Crew, the forum bros..... Allstar cast of folks. |

Assuming cold wash hang dry, UHF shouldn't shrink much right? Yes I will cold wash and hang dry for sure. As usual the XL fit is perfect for me on this one. A UHF will not shrink at all with a cold wash and hang dry in my experience. They will shrink some with a hot machine wash and dry though. |
