If you try to shrink it, let us know how it goes. I'd like the body width a bit smaller too. The results of the first wash were very good. I did a warm (30°C) machine wash, and 40 minute tumble medium. I was looking to lose about a half size. I got just a bit less than that. I'll wear it a few times, and do it again. With any luck, I'll get the little more I'd like. Over time, I think it's going to get there, anyway. I plan on taking the @untucked approach to washing and wearing. Makes wearing clothes less stressful, too! You worry less about dirt, grime, food stains, smells, etc. when you KNOW you're gonna wash the damn thing anyway, lol

the new IHJ-54 brown horsehide jacket looks great. the only thing I dislike about it is the collar seems kinda large and I don't like the zipper tassels.

What is the untucked method? Sounds good, can't seem to find it.
Post more photos of the 170 in the wild. Maybe some natural light photos?? I got the 96 in yesterday, it's a really cool and comfortable shirt. Sleeves are a touch long but I can't complain. Glad I got it.

I think it looks very good, and the collar does appear a tad large, but can work in your favor when its cold and windy and flipped up for protection. The only minus for me would be the overall length, as its about an inch too short. The zipper tassels come in handy when trying to negotiate the pocket while riding, especially with gloves on.

So soft and flexible... Great shirt. A good wearing shirt when your tired of breaking in the raw denim and canvas stuff

Digdug it's my new favorite. I like how the front bottom of the shirt is flatter. It's so comfortable I'm tempted to buy another since it probably won't be remade.

I guess they do serve a utilitarian purpose, but i'm not a rider so i'd look like a total poser wearing a $1600 motorcycle jacket. i'm still on the lookout for a jacket similar to this one, minus the steep pricetag. TS has that moto jacket but again, it's a moto jacket and I don't think I could pull off that look because I don't ride. I just want a plain brown leather jacket with a standard collar and without the cinch back I see on so many moto jackets.

Fantastic quality, and can be had for less than an IH version. Nothing wrong with considering a presold jacket, as a well made one should outlive you in most cases. The Fedora Lounge is a good place to take a look, as the guys over there sell and trade high quality jackets on a regular basis, and have a wealth of knowledge.

I had an IHTL-1700 (L) and IHTL-1213 (grey M) land today. Wowzers, they are nice. Also, extremely slim fitting. I'm not complaining, I'm a trim guy but they are skin tight! I'm glad I sized up per Sam's size on the 1700, they sleeves are a little short but it's so nice I can't send it back.
All in all, very happy. Also, sad that RB won't have all these goodies much longer.

I cuff the the sleeves on my 1213 because they are on the longer side and its not what I would call a skin tight fit either. Just food for thought..either way, glad you like them!

I like the way they fit, it's hard to find clothes that are "fitted" on me, maybe skin tight was an overstatement. The 1213 is perfect. The 1700 is great and the sleeves are comfortable and will never get in the way, so that's something to be happy about. I'll pop some pics up in a sec and get some fit feedback. SaveSave

I normally wear an XXXL in IH shirts, but went with an XL as the P-P is my true chest size, and the reviews say they stretch quite a bit with wear, and return with washing. My question is how much heavier is the 1700? Depending on how mine fits, I might pick up the heavier one if they restock the XXL.

I know I'm still thinking of picking up a 1700 too even though I don't need more black. They are coming with more colors of it in the future though.

It feels about 30% heavier and a more rigid fabric; not as much stretch but it still gives quite a bit

I've got a couple of Dale of Norway sweaters, and a few other wool ones that just don't get much wear, as overall, not much of a sweater guy I guess, and the 1700 might be in that same boat for me.
