Did you size up? It's a thinner material I assume, not sure if I should measure an IH flannel to compare or a more standard shirt. Have to decide between XL and XXL I went with a Large, which is what 3/4 of my IH shirts are. The shirt is thin, only by IH standards, and very sturdy for being a "gauze" type fabric--it does have a little give to it. Here is IHUKs product page with measurents (Giles sized up, while Sam is in his usual Medium) www.ironheart.co.uk/shirting/ihsh-96.htmlWhat IH shirts do you already own? I have the 526 SV that isn't very comparable and a 126-PB (purple ombré flannel, XXL). Thinking XXL for sure, wondering if I should get a XXXL and shrink it though. Hard call. Thanks for pointing this one out, I had no idea anyone else would get it back in stock over there.

Thanks for the visual aids ickesIt's interesting to me that the stitching thread is not more dyed--wonder what color the wrong color they used was? I suppose the new batch will look slightly different because they're using a different color thread to start...

I remembered why I dislike rakuten....Hopefully I got the size I wanted, rodeo bros now shows no more left.
Almost bought the 76 today, but it just felt too much for my current wardrobe. I will wait for the next idea Giles has going about an OD vintage denim from what I've read I think.

Anyone buy from Headlock on Rakuten before? I've only used Rodeo Bros and Vari thus far.

Got an email from IHUK. Apparently they are planning to release the 170 in a western version this fall. They were just checking if I wanted to keep my work shirt order or to wait for the western. I opted to stay with the work shirt version.

I'd be in for the western. IH should just do a pre-order where customers pay upfront to gauge interest. I get that they want low inventory but if the 170 sold out so fast then they should double the order

I couldnt agree more gaseousclay --non refundable deposit pre orders -- I dont get the potential downside--seems win, win...

That said, it does sound like he's trying to round up numbers to support another run of this fabric. Not sure if there will be a formal preorder process or if he's just taking a straw poll. www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9898.180Personally, I prefer the work shirt version. The metal buttons are cool and I'd say my personal aesthetic leans more work shirt. Because of all that carpentry and metal grinding I do. Instead of rounding up cattle. Jesus am I a poser.

Yeah I opted to keep my work shirt version as well.
Pre orders are a nightmare for IHUK and Giles did explain that yesterday as stated above.

I'd be in for the western. IH should just do a pre-order where customers pay upfront to gauge interest. I get that they want low inventory but if the 170 sold out so fast then they should double the order The downside to the pre-orders is that it turns into a logistical nightmare. Giles explained that they tried it with some jeans once and they ended up making about double the amount of jeans because of the pre-order idea. What it basically boils down to is sizing and figuring out how many of each size to make. Customers would place their pre-order for one size but then once the fit guides were live they would change their size based on the measurements. The 170 is a decent example because a lot of guys actually sized up one from their normal size once they saw the fit guide.

Thanks ickes your last post spelled it out very well. Another solution would be having consistency in sizing from one shirt to the next (easy to say from the comfort of my computer--onviously more difficult to make happen in the real world)

I've currently got a couple of items on the way, and Mihara again reiterated that time was running out for them to sell to us.

Was looking for something in olive but no sizing. I may pick up the hickory stripe next pay day since it's only thing I liked. I have so many denim/blue shirting at home that I wanted something different.

Yes, I did. Went with Large. IHs sizing-in the last 12 months--seems to getting smaller (as evidenced by Sam's many size ups) I get the sizing discrepancies when changing fabrics, but I think they are tweaking with more than just arm length ( @dave ). All that being typed, at least they throw up averaged shirt (even different colored shirts, when their measurements warant them) measurements. They go above and beyond any other company in this respect (except mto)

I think I may be mistaking your meaning of "sizing", though, drewcandraw . I see the 160 is only available in S and M. The 162 has only M and XXL.

I noticed some of the guys on the forum were sizing up also but I didn't see a need for me. Hopefully it works out for me. Honestly I think Sam should be wearing a Large in everything as his preferred medium fits him smaller than how I like my shirts to fit, but just my opinion.

ickes Most would agree with your assessment of Sam's fit--i know i do! I only use him as a virtual measurement tool, in conjunction with my preexisting IH closet and their measurement #s, not as a guide for his look/fit.
