Strike Gold makes interesting denim but their fits are weird. All of SG's denim is unsanforized as well if that matters

cleaned out the closet a couple of months ago and found a pair of JB0406 www.japanbluejeans.com/en/item/?c=zoom&pk=16I didn't really like them when I got them a couple years ago (thought the cuff was a bit big) Now I do. Glad I put them back in rotation (actually the only pair I've worn this month). Nice denim but Zim seems to fade very slowly. |

I did get the Japan Blue 0626 18oz High tapered jeans. or Weight lifter cut. When new, These jeans can sand up on their own! Very full of starch. And at 18 ounces not very flexible. I could not get the jeans buttoned up ! I did manage to get the top button fastened, So I wore them like that for about a day just around the house, The denim stretched just a little to walk around a bit. But I could not do anything in them, still too stiff&tight. So, night before last I soaked them in very warm water. A lot of starch was released. After drying I was able to button them all the way, And have been wearing them out and about. The denim is very rough/thick kind of like heavy canvas or a Rug for your floor. Woven very tight. I am going to wear them again today to see if they will loosen up a bit. The brown weft is very interesting, you can see it peeking through on the front of the jeans. I also like the hi rise waist. But be warned the tapered ankle is very tight! But lots of room in the upper legs. The construction on these Is top notch, But that is to be expected as these are from the same company that makes Momotaro jeans.       |

Crazy denim! Collect Mills certainly makes unique stuff. I've done the no top button thing on a few pairs now, good luck with the break in.

The measurements look pretty damn good on these but BOW doesn't show a hem measurement. |

The taper on JB denim is extreme. Part of the reason i've never tried their jeans

alphatectz - Did you look at the sizing tab on the site? Based on the hem opening and description, they look pretty tapered to me. I would measure a pair you own that you like using the blue owl measuring guide and see if they are sized the way you like them or not

Also, if you liked the texture of the pbj denim, I don't believe these are close in that they're not as slubby or loose wieved.

Consider the Momotaro 0202 from Denimio or the 0306 from BiG. Sanforized, but still cool and available in indigo x black or indigo x cobalt.   |

Just a tip on a future drop, I had ordered the JB 0626 from OD back in January when it showed in stock on their website. Apparently they listed it expecting a restock, which is now delayed until mid-march, but they told me they are working on a "collaboration coming out with Japan Blue in 18oz Selvedge, that is similar to the JB0626, just not brown weft but a standard white weft." Supposed to be dropping "soon".

13 fit is the same as the 12, just traditional contrast stitching and white weft.
