Way too much to think aboot.
Pre dressing better epiphany. I would buy Aeropostale or old navy jeans. $6-15 usually boot cut, wicked pre-distressed light light wash. I spurged once in high school and bought american eagle for $40! It was on a mall date I impressed that chick!
What I am getting at those jeans would last 6-10 months and the crotch would blowout.
What I learned: Pre-distressed denim is basically pre-worn denim. Raw denim lasts longer since it isn't treated.
Moral: I'm hard on my crotch.
Aside: I had a dark non distressed pair on jeans like c2002 I was like 14. Button fly and dark indigo. Oddly I never really worn them unless it was a holiday family thing.

I had seen something blaming that kind of cuff wear to dirt build up.
Side note: I had a great uncle who used cuffs as an ashtray.

I would say that each denim has its own qualities, and depending on what you do while wearing them, determines longevity. I am one that feels that washing them once in a while, vs, never washing lends itself to a longer lasting pair.
If you cuff, its important to open them up and clean the hem often, as you'll be surprised what you'll find in there. I have never bought anything pre-distressed, as I really don't get that. I'll beat them myself, thank you.
A while ago, I saw my wife's nice wearing a pair of jeans, with unnatural looking holes, and tears, and asked if she wore in those holes herself, although I knew the answer. She said she bought them that way, and also paid good money for those holes, LOL

"I'm hard on my crotch."
"I'll beat them myself, thank you."
"I asked if she wore in those holes herself, although I knew the answer."
"She said she bought them that way, and also paid good money for those holes."
"I can't tell you how crotches I've blown."
So are we talking about denim here, or revising script ideas for a terrible softcore porno on Skinemax?

I noticed some slight cuff wear on my Uniqlo selvedge. I assumed it was because they were cheap that I was seeing premature wear - glad ithat's not the case

My 634s blew out the actual hem under the chainstitch on both legs so had to repair. This never happened to me before. The front pockets also Tore to shreds in the opening so had to repair. I basically never repaired a pair so much in so short time as my Iron hearts. I concur that about 15oz no frills seems like a sweetspot.
