Brought my shirt to the dry cleaner to see if he could help tailor sleeves, he said go buy a new shirt it will be too expensive =(
I've asked him to just try shrinking for me. Even though its an XL and I normally wear medium, it's really close and not too big.

I just put some of mine in the wash for the first. I'm really hoping they don't shrink too much. I really like them, but I would rather repurchase them larger than have to deal with dry cleaning all the time =( I'm hoping that I am just worrying too much about it, but my size is currently a small and I've also been training a lot since I started purchasing shirts.

Funny chambray is known to shrink a lot. My chambray shrunk a tag size. Charcoal maybe a little bit but nothing crazy. I just out grew it. As expected, my shirts are only laundered if necessary (odor or visibly dirty), and always cold washed and line-dried. My slubby & neppy chambrays (>5oz weight) shrunk the most, but definitely not a tag size from medium. My others didn't have shrink issues, those being 4oz charcoal selvedge and 5oz double-dip indigo & bright double indigo. The only place the shrinkage altered the fit of those heavier shirts was the chest, which have a slight pull at the third button (counting from the neck button) depending on my posture. They fit great in every way besides that one button, and it would be far costlier to update them to larges instead and have them all tailored. On that note, I did come across a large Italian indigo slubby chambray for a song, so I had it tailored. That said, I'd much rather find shirts second hand in large classic or slim and then have them tailored with the money saved over retail - insuring a perfect fit every time. The large was taken in a bit in the lower half of the torso, minor tapering of sleeves and took in the length of the sleeves & front/rear "drapes" to shorter than a medium. The side scoops are still the original measurement, but as it's a large I suppose they may be longer than my mediums. The less-severe scooping from having brought the hem-line up really makes it look different, the original sweep of the side scoops makes the whole shirt appear long. I can't suggest this enough if it's in your budget and you have a capable tailor at your disposal.

Does anyone have any of the slubby nep chambray offerings from G? Thoughts/feedback? My favorite G shirts. Do they feel heavy for 5.5 oz? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one. Which do you have? How have they broken in? Thanks Dev!

Do they feel heavy for 5.5 oz? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one. Which do you have? How have they broken in? Thanks Dev! I have quite a few of them. Brown Slubby Nep, Black Slubby Nep, Sky Slubby Nep, Indigo Slubby Nep, and Grey Slubby Nep. They don't feel heavy, but they feel substantial. They take a wear to break in, but they break in nicely and fit like a glove. I have the Heavy Indigo Chambray, and that is really substantial, like a strait jacket. These aren't quite like that. My love all my Gustin chambrays.

Thanks for the feedback. I almost pulled the trigger on the stock store option, but they pulled my direct link and are redirected me to the "notify me" page. Same thing just happened to me. They didn't even sell out. Granted, if I really wanted one, I'd consider emailing them directly. But I can spend my money elsewhere.

Probably not an ideal shirt for warmer weather, but perfect for the spring and fall. I have the Italian indigo slub Chambray, as well as the sky and indigo slubby nep chambrays. I wear them fine in warm weather (Austin), but sleeves are rolled & pushed half up 90% of the Summer. Dying to have the brown and black versions added to the closet eventually. They're thicker but a lot more soft and/or supple, they breathe perfectly fine and do not feel heavy. Used to have a standard Jcrew chambray that my fiancé would steal all the time, but she doesn't miss it one bit since gaining access to the slubby neps. Mine have so much wear and have broken in so long ago, I don't even remember what the fabric was like initially. If you wanted one from Stock but feel you're experiencing an error, I'd try contacting them rather than blowing it off. The slubs and slubby neps are much more interesting and nicer than their (or others') standard chambray fabrics and they really haven't been offered for backing or in stock very often since the original one or two runs.

Can anyone post up pics of the "size up to slim" change? I'm thinking - for example, I'm a classic medium and just took the dive on a slim large - can anyone post up pics of the shirts (on them) and how they look differently? I plan to probably wash the slim large to make it fit better, but I'd like to see how this looks on others.
Thanks everyone!

I have a 'standard' material check shirt and I've only cold wash + hand dry.
I bought a heavier twill check (in the same Slim Medium), and it fit terrible (arms were way long, bunching up on each other). Tried a cold wash + hang dry. Nothing changed. I then re-cold washed, tossed it in the dryer, and that cured it somewhat.
Definitely a trial and error type of relationship...

I should also mention, that their Slim Medium runs pretty short. They make a tall fit, but I am not a particularly tall person. 5'11, 170lbs For example: A brand most know, 7 diamonds, their Mediums fit well in that reguard. Not that I've purchased a 7 Diamonds shirt very recently, lol Banana Republic slim tailored fit, another example of a Medium hitting the right height, for me, where the Gustin is short in comparison.

I plan to probably wash the slim large to make it fit better, but I'd like to see how this looks on others. Thanks everyone! My example wouldn't be valid, as I had my lone sized-up example altered by my tailor to fit better - as its arms needed to be taken in and the entire shirts length brought up a bit. I typically wear my shirts with the arms unrolled, fastened on the tighter cuff button; so slightly-too-long doesn't fly with me. If you ever have the ability to snap up one of your desired G shirt fabrics in one-size-too-big (especially if it's a LONG, rather than a slim) for a song, grab it and take that thing to the tailor - you'll regret nothing, and likely never want another G shirt "off the rack" again. Let it be known that all of my mediums fit me perfectly swell, and I don't have complaints about them - but a properly tailored shirt is always better than any off the rack.
