A great source for style inspiration and the occasional deal or two: unionmadegoods.com/ Like this gem ($418 but I'm hopeful we'll see something similar from one of the new local denim producers): Dark Denim Overshirt

Looks like they are a merchant/retailer. Not sure if we should make a seperate board for merchants or keep it within other brands. They carry a lot of great brands and many I have never heard of. That shirt has a Mister Freedom vibe to it.

They've got some nice shoes, even exclusives from Alden if that's your thing.

40% off sale going on now at UM. picked up this Filson cascade shirt for $87 + shipping. Sadly, I would've preferred the other brown/red/blue colorway but they were out of my size.

Figured you guys had noticed this. I order an Alex Mill Western Shirt (indigo dyed plaid). The fit guide (for Alex Mill) conflicts with what is on the manufacturer site, fyi. Also, Alex Mill has an end of season sale going on right now. Lower prices than Union Made, but more limited on size selection. I hadn't really heard of them before today.

I like some of the Alex Mill stuff, he's the son of the J Crew CEO. But most of what I've seen is made in China, which is a personal deal breaker. If you don't care, they've got some cool products.
And you're right, their sale prices are lower than UMG and our local Stag Provisions sale pricing too.
Is it weird to anyone else that a place called Union Made Goods sells lots of stuff that's very clearly not Union made?

A bit disingenuous in the name, but I may send them an email and ask what's up with that when I get it (first order from them). I kinda figured it was just a gimmicky name when I saw the Chinese or wherever made Converse. I was figuring Alex Mill is probably Chinese based on the fact that they don't say where anything is made, but I kinda wanted to give them a shot and the fabric looks nice, especially at less than full price. If the M sizing lined up to what Unionmade claimed, I would have saved some money buying direct, but I'm glad I went and looked since I wouldn't be able to get the M buttoned from the looks of their fit guide, and it would certainly strangle me to death if buttoned all the way up.

I assumed everything they carried was US/union made when I first heard of them, but after looking through their list of brands it was apparent this wasn't the case. Not a deal breaker per se but a bit misleading

I'd seen somewhere the name alludes to quality but I call BS. I have been checking out the sale and seen some coats I like but many of them use the European sizing. This stuff is made for stick figures. I have one item sized like that, a CPO by scotch and soda (that I love) its a xxl and I'm a 42 suit size!

Maybe the 'union' refers to the sewing machine rather than the sewers?

From their website. "The name "Unionmade" was conceived around the notion of well-made and aesthetically classic goods. It also conveys what we are about: Collaborating, uniting and making things together. While some of what we sell does come from union shops, that's a happy coincidence. We are interested in well-made American style and aesthetically classic goods, many of which are made in the United States, but we're not affiliated with any unions, "

Solid. I think I'm about to snag three or four shirts from that 40% sale.

I'm still watching a couple things. Will they do a further reduction? Anyone know about "Howlin' by Morrison" brand quality?

big ass sale over at UM. Was gonna buy the Filson mackinaw cruiser vest for $59 but when I went to checkout it was still listed at $135. probably a programming error on their side but decided not to chance it.

Got super excited about the Woolrich peacoat in size large for only $139.....but then I remembered that Woolrich runs huge and that chest of 24" is a no go.

Yeah these sales are a free for all. At least the site is faster than I've seen it before. A couple east harbor surplus shirts I like but there's no sizing info. In general I try and shy away from these "final sale". Kind of a crap shoot.

I tend to buy most things at a discount; if I hadn't spent so much over the last few months I'd of lost my shit in this sale. Unionmade carries some good brands that I wish I'd see more of (Tender, National Athletic / Homespun, Yuketen); there were some very good deals to be had as well- particularly right at the beginning! whiskeyriver What size did you go for for that Golden Bear jacket? I spent a good 20 minutes or so weighing it up as the details/construction looked so nice but just couldn't warrant buying it this time of year!

Here in North Florida, that's pretty much a 3 season jacket right there except for the very coldest days. I was looking for an indigo canvas jacket that wasn't like a workshirt style or a trench style or a blazer or shop coat style. So there ya go. This hits all the notes for me.
