I just got my first pair of Gustin chinos yesterday and I'm interested in getting more. But, I wanted to check and see what other people recommend for alternatives.
Is there another brand that makes a good pair of chinos at a good price point? I like my Gustins but I don't like having to wait 2-3 months (or more) to get them.

Nice.
What fit do you like and of course price range?
Dockers makes a bunch for relatively cheap.
The modern fit, they may have changed the name by now, khaki they sell at JCP for around $30-35. Dockers alpha khaki in slim taper feel kinda like denim and cut more casual. Not a dressy chino but a nice casual pant. GAP slim lived in khaki cheap soft and many colors also have straight. Gap also just released a new khaki haven't seen them yet.
Banana republic Aiden or Emerson fit. Little step up can still find at the outlets for cheap.
Bill's khaki come in every fabric. I find the fit to be off but I've seen some great fabrics. Too high rise and straight leg just doesn't work for me.
Those are my favorites. Nothing insanely expensive at all all should be had for 50$ or under.

My favorite are Uniqlo regular fit chinos.

Dockers Alpha Khaki is my go to chino. Slim taper works for me.

I've been trying to find a good American made pair of reasonably slim chinos that I can pick up in a few colors.
I've ordered Flint and Tinders and will grab a pair of Taylor Stitch. But I'm also looking at Save Khaki and Apolis.

Anyone tried the N&F chinos? I was looking at one the other day and couldn't really figure what the difference between it and their regular denim jeans.

I have a pair and it is five pockets in selvedge chino fabric. The fabric is pretty light and unsubstantial. It is a weird guy and it fits just like a pair of jeans. I got it on sales for less than $70 and I would do it again in different color (navy).

I'm tempted by the #7 Desert Duck chino on Gustin right now.

Chinos shouldn't stretch like denim will. There will be some stretch but not 1-1.5" like denim.

Are they really worth spending $40 more than I would at Banana Republic? Well, for me, the Camel Herringbone Chino was a fabric that I haven't seen at other places, so I thought that one was worth it for me to spend more on. I'll have to own it to know if I'll be willing to spend more money on their basic chino colors such as khaki/graphite/olive/brown because those colors can be had at any retailer for, as you said, $40+ less.

No it doesn't really stretch like jeans. But the weave does loosen up a bit after wear. Not really much difference than any other chinos that I have.

Agreed. I can see spending that much for a unique or special fabric but I'm having a hard time justifying spending that much on one of their basic colors.

My second favorite behind the G chinos is the BR Aiden slim. They're just a tiny bit short, but $40 on sale is tempting. I'd still rather have the Gs, though.

I doubt I would get a standard twill from Gustin. Just doesn't make sense. Canvas looks cool and maybe the heav fabrics when they release them again.

Best Chinos around: global.rakuten.com/en/store/fukuraku/item/13denim-ih-707/Cold mercerized, 12oz, extra long staple cotton, Talon zipper, Permex snaps..... Doesn't get much better... + JP price is about half of western retail price( www.ironheart.co.uk/bottoms/ih-707.html). Oh shit, Rakuten has my size too

I've got some Dockers in alpha slim taper which I'm a fan of for casual wear, any recommendations for something a little bit dressier?
been tempted to jump on a couple of gustins, just a bit wary given some of the wait times people have been getting recently...

I'm a 35/30 in Aiden fit. I have 25" thighs and they fit fine for me. Second thought I might have 36/30 but pretty sure it's 35waist. I love the fit.

I have a pair of their weird guy chinos in olive green - scored them used from a consignment store for $36. I couldn't tell you about the difference in fit since I haven't worn them at all. I still need to get them hemmed.
