I know there has to be some bras out there who like the bourbon. What are some of your faves? What is your standard, go-to bourbon - the brand you enjoy a glass of after a long day at work? I have my preferences but I think this is one of the more solid offerings at the price point:

I am not drinking much these days, trying to be healthier, but whiskey coke was a go to drink. Maker's Mark for bourbon. Very good. Great with coke too. Even though I have mostly stopped pop. Windsor Canadian for whiskey. On the cheaper side but decent. Have always been more of a mixed drink guy that straight up.

Been into American whiskey a little more recently. Mostly rye. Anchor makes a few good ones and Bulleit Green (even though it's part of the Big Government scandal) and Makers 46 is decent for a cheap non rye. Love Irish whiskeys like Red Breast and Middleton and all kinds of Scotch like Oban, Highland Park and Laguvillan. Also really enjoy the Japanese whiskys Suntory and Hibiki.
Used to be a neat snob, but have come around to accepting 2" ice cubes. Stil not a fan of much else in there except for the occasional ginger beer and ice.

www.mbrdistillery.com/a friend of mine from Elementary School ended up going to West Point, serving in the Army for a few years and then decided he was going to start a distillery. I don't drink and I am biased because I know the guy, but if you ever find yourself in that part of Kentucky, they do free tours and tastings. They have a lot of flavoured moonshines and their best seller is an aged whiskey made using smoked corn. I think it all tastes like burning (with the smoked stuff tasting like smoke burning), but their St. Elmo's Fire shine tastes like spice cake and fireballs. They have been open since 2009, so even if they have some aged stuff there, it isn't too old. there are a lot of brahs out there that look down upon a lot of the new american distilleries, but whatever. Some people think cucumbers taste better pickled.

Bourbon, Bourbon, Bourbon... Cask strength-Bookers 80 proof-Angels Envy I drank very little for many years, still don't drink much but sip a little every now and then. Michter's is on my want list. I've heard it's good.

My go-to is definitely Elijah Craig 12. ~$25 and just bursting with flavor.
My current "favorite" is Blantons Orginal.

I have an unopened bottle of Hibiki 12 sitting on my shelf. I'm waiting to open it with someone who enjoys whiskey, my wife doesn't really drink dark spirits and I don't need 6-8 open bottles. I'm looking forward to it though!

Talisker is my favorite but cost a lot in it's various incarnations (if you have kids and those sorts of expenses and think about the 75 bucks in that way) so it's a treat kind of a thing. Bulliet is good too and less expensive even though people get wrapped around the axle about it's origins and whatever else. Maker's is a solid go to as well.
There are so many brands these days that the go to is a revolving cast of stuff that's around 25-30 bucks a bottle. I don't drink a lot or a little. I do think a whiskey in the evening is good for what ails you though...

Have consumed more than my fair share of beer during my lifetime, and still have a beer from time to time. Hell, I had a couple of snow caps last night, but drink a lot less because of the carbs and sugars, they contain. Now days, I'd rather drink Scotch whiskey, as it just seems like a much cleaner poision to consume, as its distilled, rather than brewed. Currently working on some Chivas Regal 12 year, and find it quite tasty. Personally, I would never add anything to it, and figure if I can't drink it straight up, then its not worth drinking, but understand that's not everyones cup of tea.
