Hey dudes and dudetts, I just received my 35 slim Heavy Americans. Fit and construction are great. A little snug but should stretch out to a good fit. I have the Sixteener in a straight fit, but it wasn't a good look for me. I wear sneaks mostly, so the cuff was just too big. These slims are perfect. The only hickup is that I'm a 33 inseam, and these are 36. Waiting for G to make the plunge into offering inseam options, but it's all good. So, I have decide what I'm going to rock: stacks or cuff. Wondering if you all could give me some pointers. Here are pics of both. Are the cuffs too large? Are the stacks too "bunched" at the bottom. Thoughts and suggestions welcome! Thanks

I think they look fine stacked. It's not much at all and looks natural. Also I don't like the cuffing when worn with a sneaker. It's personal preference but I feel it just looks better with boots.

I think either way is OK. I personally think the cuffs look better on you, but the stacks are Ok too. if you don't like either, you can always get them hemmed like many of us do.

I agree, but I think his inseam is too long and the stacks look a little sloppy. It would be better with boots either way (stack or cuff).

i'd go with the cuff. even with the cuff you get a small stack effect, which can lead to some interesting wear/fading. the stack billows out a bit too much for my liking. full disclosure: i get all of my G's hemmed resulting in a single cuff

Full Disclosure: Rarely wear sneakers of any sort with my denims (selvage) and those are the flannel PF Flyer Ebbets. I'm a boot or leather shoe guy with the good stuff. But agree with the others - like the cuffed better.

orcas, it looks great either way IMO. I would go with both depending on what type of mood I'm in that day. I have a few pairs like that which look good cuffed or stacked and I'll just switch it up depending on what I'm feeling that day. so yeah, they look great either way.

On another note.....
Might that be the Rust Twill ? I'm still waiting for mine. I'm wondering how they sewed up.

Slight preference for the cuff. If you were wearing leather shoes or boots, cuff would be the definite winner. On the other hand I am not a stacker, so I'm not experienced with how they wear in. It could take time for good stacks to actually form so maybe it would look good with wear. Hemming also an option. Lawless had a great price on it if they are still offering it.
Probably no big help but another vote for doing what you like best.

For me, the fit is spot on and I've always had great luck with QC. I own 8 shirts now and all have been excellent. That being said, this whole model is fairly subjective, so YMMV.

I'm leaning toward the cuff just becasue I enjoy it, but I think I'll rock both.

Thanks to all who replied. I'm gonna rock both, but I'm also going to back the current Heavies. I'll get those hemmed.
Peace

Theyre both fine. I would maybe take a good inch or so off,and continue to rock them every which way, depending on the other pieces your wearing on any given day.

Thanks My opinion is it need to shorten about an inch or inch and half. Stack or cuff can be both good but your jeans looks sloppy right now. If you decide to hem the jeans, be aware about the shrinkage on the length after wash.

I'd go with the cuffs. I like a little bit of break at the ankle in my pants, but only a little. Agree with the guys who said jeans tend to look better uncuffed with sneakers, though. I'd get them hemmed eventually.
Digging those Onitsukas, man! Those look awesome.

Cut them at the knee and make Jorts is a solid third option.

Digging those Onitsukas, man! Those look awesome. Came here to say that ^ and that your jeans look good. You'd be ok either way as far as the advice in this thread - as is or with an inch or so hemmed off.

There are girls here? What? Anyways, I used to do the whole double cuff thing for a while. I like it more than huge stacks because I just can't do huge stacks. There are people here that love that look. If you like it, go for it. I like a single cuff about 1" or 2". I think it is a good clean look, but goes better with boots than sneakers. I am not going to tell you how to live your life, but I would also recommend taking them to a tailor. It should only be about $8-$10. After I got mine hemmed, I was wishing I would have done it sooner because the double cuff is unwieldy and weird on me. But...as others have said, leave some stack when you get them hemmed (if you choose to do that) because it is a drag if you get them done too short. I did that with a few pairs...including my beloved jades. They aren't like up to my knees or "jorts"...but I got them tailored like a pair of pants with a proper length for proper folks. These are jeans and shouldn't be proper length. The only good side about that is they don't drag if I wear some sneakers that would cause other jeans to catch on the ground a little (straight leg jeans...they'll do that). and if you are new to this...sometimes you have to experiment...and sometimes those experiments fail. There will be more denims. Don't hold your breath waiting for Lord Gustin to do custom inseams. They are selling just fine now and they have no incentive to make improvements. Also, they don't care about you. It is a business and not personal. Shoot, when they sent everyone christmas cards that time, I didn't get one. Oh wait, we have smileys here

@rex - Christmas cards? This year they sent out gifts. It was really random and unexpected. Not sure how they picked. Custom inseams probably won't happen due to the sew shop. It would drive up production cost and time.

is ok, I didn't want a stupid gift from those jerks anyways!
well, maybe a little present. Actually, they sent me coasters the time that they sat on my jeans for a few months instead of fixing them and sending them back. What the hell am I going to do with coasters? My goddamn coffee table is a piece of wood on milk crates. I burnt drawings into it and then varnished it. Nothing bad can happen to that coffee table. I have had it since the 03-04 winter when I lived in Pierre, SD for four months. Coasters. Whatever.

You shipped a large piece of wood from CA to japan?

yeah, household goods. They ship up to 18,000 pounds. I kept it down below 1,000 to keep things simple. So it was just this here coffee table and enough denim to fill three olympic swimming pools. Ok, there was a bed and some other clothes and stuff. Whatever. I also exaggerated about the quantity of denim. But my chopper did get hit by an RPG and then I spent a few harrowing days in a sandstorm. My memory on that is a little hazy. I am not on trial here! Tell Brian Williams to hem his pants and get on with his life.
