Ciano sent me these hot off the press today and I should get them next week. I thought the colour would be a nice addition to the blues, blacks, white, green and brown I have already.
The closer-up darker colour is more accurate as the manly red, as even I would draw the line at pink.

They look gorgeous. Not a fan of the buttons, but the fabric itself looks crazy nice. By any chance do you own any Oxbloods, either Ox1s or Ox2s to compare?

I chose these buttons as they were different. No one but me and Mrs wdw will see them anyway, so it's not really an issue.
I don't have the Oxbloods, and would have bought the Oxblood 2s, but felt that G were having a laugh with the price hike. These were only $95, which seemed fair.
I'm assuming they're the same material as one or the other.

Probably wouldn't have been my choice for that color, but I love the penny closures on my CF postal 'boners. Love 'em. And you're right that it's no big deal if you don't fancy them. If you're wearing a belt or an untucked shirt, no one's the wiser.

i have the oxblood #2 from gustin and really love the color : it looks quite close to yours. I prefer tonal thread on my gustin but ciano construction looks better...

As an update, I asked Ciano to double check all the specs before posting, due to all the issues that seem to affect every manufacturer, and it sounds like they're all bang on or within 0.25", so that's a good start.
So far, communications have been very fast, informative and helpful, so here's hoping the actual product is equally as good. Given their much quicker turnaround times, Ciano seem to be able to satisfy the denim itch months quicker than the usual suspects.
But as ever, the proof is in the pudding...

My only experience w Ciano hands on was the sample pair I received to check fit. It was bang on.
I should have my actual pair next week.

These turned up on Monday and I've just got home to check them out. The material feels good, a bit starchy, and the colour isn't offensive at all. I ordered the 32" 905 regular fit, which means a 35" waist pre-wash and 34" afterwards. I ordered it with a 36" leg to allow for 1" shrinkage. They actually came in at 35" waist and 35.5" leg, so no complaints at all. Here's some pics pre-wash, and I'll soak them and then update once I get some daylight.
I have to say that dealing with Ciano has been a very pleasant and quick-happening experience. Prompt responses and a willingness to do what he can to keep me happy.
I'm very happy with them, but my only criticisms are that the rear pockets are 2" further apart than they should be, but my wife says I'm fussing over nothing, and also that the rear pockets have a very narrow opening. That's possibly because the stitching moves out for the hidden rivets. I can live with it as I never put anything in them, but guys who use them will need something wider.

I agree with your assessment of the rear pockets. they are indeed too far apart and look off.

Would be interesting to see what cianofarmer thinks. Why they made them like this? As far as the back pocket size can you fit in a decent size wallet? If not then that is an issue too. Otherwise they look great. Especially with the leather jacket and boots.

Lol, yeah they're more like side pockets, or rear hand pockets.
That pocket business scares me away every time.
Thought i saw someone mention before its on purpose. Their reasoning was that farmers like it that way to reach their tools easier or something to that effect.

Yeah, the size and position of the pockets are niggling to the extent that I couldn't wear them with a short jacket or tucked in shirts, which is not where I want to be. Other than that I think they're great, with excellent workmanship.
I've reached out to Ciano, so we'll see what his thoughts are.

Guys, you can have Ciano place the pockets where ever you like. He has stated that the farmers he sells to, like them as is. I haven't ordered any denim from him yet, but when I do, I'll ask him to place the pockets 1.5 inches from the center, and an inch down from the yolk. Done deal! Love the chinos, but with welted pockets, it isn't an issue.

Update. Ciano has come back and said he'll do an immediate rebuild with bigger 6.5"x6.5" pockets, positioned a maximum of 4" apart at the top, as per Gustin specs.
He said the wide width apart was a Japanese denim thing, but as I'm not Japanese I'd rather stick with closer western pocket spacing.
It's disappointing to have to wait again, especially for an unusual problem that's never happened before, but I'm impressed with Ciano's speed of response and commitment to customer satisfaction.
I'll update once again with the next pair.

CS update
Ciano sent me pics of the new larger pockets spaced 3.5" and 4" apart, to confirm what I wanted. I went with the 4", as that seems pretty standard on most jeans I have.
So far I'm very happy with the CS, and at least it proves he's trying to keep his customers happy. I'm going to have lost a month, but at least I'll hopefully be sorted.

I'm not sure about all Japanese brands across the board, but I did find out recently that Iron Heart jeans are made with the back pockets placed farther apart than most other brands. A lot of people don't even notice it but it was brought up in the Iron Heart forums recently and Giles said that Iron Heart places the pockets farther apart because their jean are made with bikers in mind and apparently the back pockets being placed farther apart from one another makes it more comfortable while riding.

ickes, that's actually encouraging, as it shows it wasn't just a cock-up, but the comments here show that it's probably not the preferred option to casual western eyes.
The other thing was the pocket sizing, as they were an inch smaller in each dimension. Apparently he did two sizes based on waist sizes, above or below I think his 33". Again, it just seemed to look a bit off to some, but that should be fixed now.
I can't imagine G having this level of detailed interaction, but then again their pockets were never an issue. But it's weird - I've gone my whole life without thinking about pocket sizing and spacing, then suddenly it becomes a showstopper.

Yeah, I found my Ciano pockets spaced just fine, but the pocket opening is a bit slim (my wallet fits, my ULock doesnt).
Next pair I will ask for slightly wider

Ciano, if these are mine, it's good to see the pics. The pockets are a definite improvement.
I see you've used white thread instead of the blue I ordered originally, but to be honest I prefer the contrast, so no complaints.
I'm not sure about the selvedge pockets, but it goes with the white stitching, and I can always tone that down if necessary.
The main thing was getting the size and position of the pockets right, which you've done, so thanks for that.
I didn't buy red to blend in with the crowd, so don't mind some individuality on it.
