Well with fresh news in the air of a Pacman vs Mayweather on the 2nd of May 2015, thought i would generate this thread.
Tend to follow mma more than anything, getting into boxing more as i learn about technique.

The boxing workout is amazing for overall fitness. Looking forward to the Pacquiao / Mayweather fight. It's not as exciting or evenly matched now as it would have been a few years back (blood testing BS), but it's still the fight I most want to see.
A few years ago I'd be hard pressed to pick a winner.. as much as I'd like to see Pacquiao win, I'm thinking Mayweather takes it with a mid-round knockout.. dude's just too controlled, too careful, and Pacquiao looks like he's lost a step.

My son in law is into this and is cleaning up. Used to play football and once I get myself back to a good starting point, I'm going to get him to train me back into better shape. He's way too hardcore for me though - I'm no longer going to spend that much time being a fitness monster, but I do want to get back to at least my late 30's shape again. Here's his website. I'm a huge boxing fan and I follow MMA to a lesser degree. I did some amateur boxing years ago so I can appreciate what it takes to compete.
I don't see Mayweather/Pacquiao happening unless Mayweather loses and is forced to concede. At that point it would be even more useless than it already is.

I have my first, and likely last/only, amateur boxing fight coming up in three weeks. It's a real estate gala/fundraiser and I was an alternate until a fight fell through tonight. I'm going up a weight class to fight a guy 8 years younger than me but I think I can take him. They shot a promo vid for it, I'm the one in the l/s blue under armor and the gustin chore in the work clothes shot. Youtube |

Yep, it's a dinner, open bar and casino night with boxing as the main entertainment. It's an annual thing but the boxers are usually very low level pros. We're training 2x/week with a boxing coach and some guys are doing 1 on 1 sessions as well. |

I want to get into BJJ but it's quite expensive here. One place is $145 a month for 2x a week. Another is $120 for 6classes a week, some of which are during work anyways. A place 20miles away is $120 for truly unlimited, but it's 20 miles away  |
