Long time lurker on the Gustin and Gustin friends board. Truck driver by trade and got into quality American made clothes after a promotion into the office. Looking to start my own trucking company soon after the first of the year and I'm anxiously waiting to fade some work shirts and jeans on the road. I own a few pair of Gustin 13.5 oz Cone Mills jeans, lots of Gustin and Taylor Stitch shirts and I'm patiently waiting on a Lawless 12.5 oz Candiani workshirt. Born and bred Tar Heel. Wilmington, North Carolina.

Welcome doctorcowboy. I'm in the same boat. I stumbled upon Gustin and Lawless recently and realized I wanted to pay more for quality, American made clothing. Welcome safetysquatch. How do you like the Taylor stitch shirts?

Hi all! Forum lurker for quite awhile. Pretty much a denim head. I have a couple of pairs from Red Cloud/ Iron Heart/ Triple Works/ Momotaro and recently Lawless's Nihon Menpu Dark Grey which I love but has a slight issue in the knee. Will be sending these back for slight alterations before I fully break them in!
Looking forward to new fabrics and making a couple of workshirts from LD once the summer fabrics are out (It's hot in Singapore, 9oz and I'd be cooked)

Hey guys, I've also been lurking these forums (and the Gustin boards before I lost access to them) for a while now. I'm pretty new to the world of raws, but super excited to receive some Lawless denim to keep my Gustin Am 16er's company .

A big welcome to all the newer members! I've been neglecting this thread since Dec. So I want to welcome everyone I hope you all enjoy it here as much as I do. To me, this is the friendliest forum about Denim (and lots of other things) that I've had the pleasure to be associated with. A great bunch here, lots of knowledge to be had, and fun to just bullshit with these guys I look forward to get to know the new guys, and to learn from you, or maybe even help you if I can, I'm rather green still, but have learned a lot from these guys, not only about denim, but leather, wet shaving, bourbon and scotch and beer, guitars and equipment, music, and other stuff. It's kinda like an encyclopedia of manly man stuff Anyways, I'll stop my rambling...see ya on the threads

derek G, I think you need to start giving yourself some credit man. Seems like for about the past year you've been saying "I'm still green at this", lol. I think it's safe to say your not really green anymore, share your knowledge bro.

What do you think about the Red Cloud compared to IH/Momotaro that you have? Hello. For the RCs, they have an interesting texture (turpan cotton) that you won't see on most brands like IH/Momos (Jap quality). They are really slubby, soft, and have white cotton specs on them if you are attentive to detail. I have the RTG-01s from RC's Rusting line and the 424 Wukong's which are similar. Both are at 14.5oz and are really soft. RC however, does only unsanforized jeans. So after a soak they are abit stiff, but stretch back/soften up after 1-2 wears. If you are interested, I would recommend their R400 17oz. It has an amazing texture not seen in any other models. They just released a 25oz one as well. Here's a picture when I first got them. These are the RTG-01s. I'll see if I can find some close up shots somewhere in my computer when I get back.

I need to do a bit more research on those Chinese brands, especially on the 25oz. Did you get your RC from Taobao? Btw, I think I have the same RW boots that you have in the photo.

Nope I got them from a local shop in Singapore. Here's a link www.tuckshopsundrysupplies.com/product-category/red-cloud-denim/ , they do international shipping for free. I'm wearing the 875 moc toes in this photo. I've since parted with them and gotten a pair of IRs
