Every thread here seems to be about sneakers or boots, which I have plenty of. Anyone have any knowledge on running shoes? Looking to jog a couple miles a day, every other day when I don't lift. Anyone have any recommendations? I was looking at the Nike Flyknit 4.0s, but was recommended away from them and to the Hoka One Ones. So now I'm looking at the Bondi 4s. Thoughts?

I'm a minimalist, and despite the bad buzz on 5fingers, I sweat by them.

devastitis, it's definitely worth your while to figure out your gait. It makes a big difference; getting the appropriate shoes can save your knees.

I've been running long distances (marathon / half-marathons) for several years now and I would highly recommend minimalist shoes. Get ones where there's no difference between the height of the heel and forefront. It forces you to run correctly, i.e. on the balls of your feet. I use www.mec.ca/product/5033-055/merrell-trail-glove-2-mens/and 5 fingers.

I wear a similar shoe that I really love. Once I got used to the minimal soles, I never went back. On occasion, if my back is killing me, I put on my regular New Balance but for most outings, it's the Minimus now. NB Minimus

Same, Iike the NB Minimus. I usually try to grab a few pairs at the end of the season for half price.

We have a hippy collective that sells them and marks them down at the end of the season. Worth checking REI too.
