If you are in the market for a great starter pair of Japanese selvedge, look no further. This pair is from Campaign 796, part of a batch that shipped out at the end of August. I tried them on and wore them for about 20 minutes. Looking to recover the $80 I paid to back them. Shipping's on me as a small token of apology for these having touched my butt once. In my defense, I was wearing clean underwear at the time.
What's cool about them? They're extremely starchy and have loads of weft showing through; perfect recipe for nice, sharp fades. The left hand weave is also kinda neat, if you're the type of guy who appreciates the subtle difference of a little detail like that. If you crave more words, I wrote up a detailed review on the Gustin forums.
What's not cool about them? As mentioned in said review, the pocket bags are different sizes. The left-hand pocket is 10.25" while the right is barely 9". Not really a big deal in my view, but I feel compelled to mention it.
Why am I selling them? These were the first pair I ever backed on Gustin. They were a good price, good weight, and looked like they should be good faders. The ideal starter pair, in my book. However, I have an alarming lack of impulse control, and I acquired some other Gustins via B/S/T while waiting (or, I suppose more accurately, not waiting) for the Bright Wefts to ship out. As a result I have too many damn denims, and I just don't anticipate wearing these as much as they deserve.
How did they sew up? Measurements are as follows: Waist = 36" / Front Rise = 12" / Thigh = 25" / Knee = 19" / Cuff Opening = 17.5" / Inseam = 36"
What do they look like? What is this, the Spanish Inquisition? They look like a friggin' pair of jeans, man. Gustin's pics do a pretty good job of representing the color and everything, but here are a few of my own as well.
