I honestly don't think I've seen any of this in Phoenix, at least not where I'm from, currently am, or have ever been..lol.

Ok I went to check out this sight and the big G shows up. Funny. Minneapolis has it's share. Nothing too outrageous though. I do like the old style mustache/beard look and vintage period clothing which were shown in a few of the pictures. Not really hipster.

Do hipsters really drink PBR? Sadly, yes. They've ruined one of my favorite beers...

Do hipsters really drink PBR? i think it's listed as part of the definition for a modern hipster. thankfully it's the one thing keeping me from being called one.

I thought it was okay but around here it was always considered the choice of rednecks. Funny how things change.

What is up with people taking pictures of their food? I don't even like taking photos of myself.

Do hipsters really drink PBR? Sadly, yes. They've ruined one of my favorite beers... PBR is already way out of style now. We can have it back now. Hipsters are too busy drinking pumpkin jalapeño flavored stouts.

Before I first went out to Portland, I'd never even heard of PBR. You can get hold of imported cans of the stuff over here (with some difficulty) but I've never seen it on draught anywhere in the UK - although I'd imagine by now that some hipster bars in London might have it, for the megalolz, naturally.
Same with Miller High Life and Rainier beer (which I think are similar products).
The funny thing is, I actually quite like them all when in the right mood. To me, they're almost like a refreshing soft drink but with a slight beer-tinged flavour to them. Much as I love my real ale, it doesn't really work for me on hot summer's afternoon... in the same way I almost never drink cold lager during the autumn/winter months.

I can't walk down the street without running into one.

Yes American domestic beer, those are the beers our US grandpas use to drink. Depending on what region of the US you were in, I remember Grain Belt, PBR, Budweiser, Olympia, Hamms, Black Label etc. I drank many of these and Miller in my younger days also. All the craft beers weren't around back then. I am with you on liking a lighter beer in the summer. I am not a hoppy beer guy anyways. The only thing I avoid is the real cheap beer, Icehouse, Natural Light etc. Never been able to drink them unless I was real desperate. If I have a choice I like Blue Moon and made in Minnesota, Grain Belt Nordeast, Summit Pilsner and from Canada, Moose Head as summer beers. Like the chocolate and creme stouts and ales in the winter. Guinness too.

Unfortunately now the area is getting over commercialized. The smaller cool record/music/clothes stores are getting priced out. Bars and restaurants too. I still have hope when I go there now and see a nice mohawk and Dr Martens.

Those beers are "working man's beers". Best for hot summer days when you're not wanting to be weighed down by a heavier beer. Add to that list: Rolling Rock, Olympia: RIP from my youth - Genesee, Iron City (Pittsburgh). Beers are situation dependent for me. Match the beer to the event and you'll be a happy drunk.
