That's cool wdw - you're getting yours extra soon.
So I forgot to wait for advice here and went ahead and washed on perm-press/warm, and then 20 minutes in the dryer with one other pair of jeans. No dye seemed to run on anything, and the inside white pockets are still white. The black denim still looks brand-new, not faded or striped or "brushy". They are still a little damp. Waist and hips still fit, seem the same size, but the inseam lost at least 2 inches... so good to have done the wash before hemming. Will still hedge a little on the long side when getting a hem, to play it safe.
I thought I was going to go all over it with a ruler but basically just laid them alongside my old pants to compare before and after wash. I seriously daydreamed about taking down measurements and reporting back for a month beforehand lolz Anyways thanks for listening, folks.

Can anybody with black 2s comment on their experience with how these have sewn up? Looking to get in on these but I want to know if these typically come out to spec or a bit under as it would effect my sizing decision on these. Much appreciated!

shoneyb I would just order assuming that they will come in per specs. Mine did but that was quite a while ago.

Those make me jealous. Much cooler than my tonal Italian BxB. Clearly I need a pair of black Iron Hearts to right this wrong.

Random question on the way-back thread...I'm browsing the G store and looking at the Italy BlackxBlack 14 oz. selvedge apron and the ID is confusing me. I have the #167 Italy BlackxBlack 14 oz. and the ID is a thick black stripe, no red on it. Are there 2 variations of the BlackxBlack from G? I looked back through the old campaigns and only found the #167 with pics containing a red/black/white ID. Mine are also tags #167...what do you guys have?
I'm wondering if it's supposed to be the same denim but the roll of fabric is somehow missing the red on the ID? I'm merely curious. These were a grab bag score that I wear the hell out of.

Does anyone have a pair of Gustin #300 Cone Blackxblack?
i'm looking for a good pair of black jeans and right now i'm debating between these, the Taylor Stitch Yoshiwa Mills, or waiting on another run of the #99 Japan blackxblack.
The 12oz weight of the #300 cone interests me because i think they'd break in a little faster. And the $78 price tag is nice. But the plain white selvedge stripe is kind of boring. Anyone have any personal experience?

Anyone have any personal experience? I wouldn't rule out the Italy BlackxBlack - another great option. I've had mine for about 1.5 years. 1 soak. Not overly starchy and really great feel out of the bag (14 oz). I just wore these yesterday (I would have posted some pics now if I had them on). Been a regular wear for me (1x per week). The progression of the fades is interesting. It's not at all a "light grey" yet, but has some fade evolution to charcoal. The texture is really great to see on these as they fade. I was not someone who really wanted black denim prior to these, but thanks to this forum I took a flyer. I grabbed a 13 oz BlackxBlack pair from Soso denim recently (red ID) and they've been slowly evolving into the rotation. I've been wanting a BlackxWhite pair now that I've also got the Italian Black Western shirt (spaghetti western) and that fade evolution has me wanting more.

Yesterday, I was going to suggest Black 2. These are the black equivalent to the Okys and have contrast stitching. And look what just dropped! www.weargustin.com/store/4312

I have the Cone BlackxBlack - I really like them. Definitely easy to break in. The more plain selvedge ID works with the all black nature, I think.

There's a bit of fading in the obvious spots, but not a ton. About six weeks in. Had to wash them a little early, though, so that might be effecting it.

I went in for the Black2 and the GreyXBlack stretch (Japan GreyXBlack cousin?) last minute after being torn from the crazy grey fade in the wear photos on the latter...I wouldn't be upset if they do fade this way. The black2 should be a classic from the looks of it and the good reviews here. I'm not sure whether I want a black warp/weft pair yet. They would be a cat hair magnet at my house.
