Hi Kickstarter backers,
I always believe that you can never know how good a company is until they make a mistake or they disappoint. We know you have certain expectations and so do we. I am happy to be able to say I work for a owner that understands this but also felt we needed to do something for you. Without Kickstarter we could never have dreamed the way we do now. My own families life has changed because of you. I was hired because of Kickstarter so thank you for that. I guess I am a product of your doing (true story)
I know Kickstarter has it's benefits and one of them is to get in on something exciting before anyone else but at a lower price. Some of you received your orders and have given us some good reviews. Some are waiting patiently to get what they ordered and some feel cheated because we launched our site and shortly after ran a 50% discount you felt Kickstarter backers should have got first. To explain why we did this after KS and not during is because we needed what Kickstarter did for us to enable such a sale. Before Kickstarter we were a store front in Phoenix with a few employees and now we are well on our way to becoming something much more important and great. We moved out of that store and into a larger factory and filled it with more machines and some more employees. We needed Kickstarter to help increase our production, our website, and just about everything else. I mean Isn't that what Kickstarter is for?
With that said any Lawless Denim Kickstarter backer will get 50% off the entire store for the next 5 years YUP I SAID IT F-I-V-E YEARS. That means you get a $35 quality pair of selvedge jeans which is lower than most discount brands including H&M. We will do this by creating a Kickstarter group in our ecommerce store. Anytime a kickstarter backer logs into their Lawless Denim account they will automatically be given the 50% discount. The only thing we need for you to do is to set up a Lawless account with all your info which is the same as when you would if you placed an order on lawlessdenim.com. We will have to add you to this special Kickstarter Group so it will require a bit of moving all of you into this group but done easily. The current sale you see active now will end when the New Year comes around and will be something we offer once a year to the masses starting Black Friday. For you this sale will run for the next 5 years starting Jan 1st for the next 1825 days (5years)
We have a bunch of you in production at the moment and a good amount of you with incomplete surveys. We could have been done with KS but it just didn't flow the way we intended it which is why we moved on to the website orders. This is why I ask you to understand, Kickstarter orders could have been completed on time but our initial processing system hampered us. This was all addressed with our new ecommerce site purchased because of your Kickstarter backing.
Please be sure to create a Lawless account so that we may add you to the Kickstarter group
We appreciate all your patience and thank you for understanding
Sal

Sal (and Roman), First off, this is a really generous offer and much appreciated! It's amazing actually. I'm afraid of the implications for my clothing storage space though I'm a KS backer and had many of the thoughts you listed in this write up. It was a little irksome when a number of people ordered the exact jeans I backed on KS in July, sometime around September and subsequently received them, at half price. Meanwhile, KS order updates seemed to be mostly untrackable at the shop. I understand why and I'm not throwing flack at you guys, just sharing insight and basically saying your message above was well thought out and sincere. I also ordered a second pair of jeans for my GF (first pair is in the KS order) recently from the new site. We are going to incorporate a stop into the shop for a custom fitting for her toward the end of December during an AZ visit. You and I have already talked about this off line and all is well and has been all along. I just wanted to state here in the forums that I didn't have any reservations about making another LD order in spite of anything I wrote above regarding the KS orders. Once the reviews and pics of product came up here it was clear you all are capable of top tier workmanship. The communication you just put out is exactly the kind of thing that smooths out a bumpy customer experience, and in a startup company, bumpy customer experiences are common. Well done and again thank you for the incredibly generous offer going forward. Regards, Steve

Amazing... I'm a KS backer too, and I thought you were giving us a hell of a deal.To buy Lawless jeans for $79 for the next five years, I thought was a steal. This...This is very generous, and shows the lengths you guys will go to, just to keep your customers happy. It's customer care like this that will keep coming back...long after the five years are up

That is incredibly awesome of you guys. I'm not a KS backer, but I think this plan is really going the extra mile for your original supporters. It won't make everyone happy (you can never do that), but it is an amazing step for most rational people.
It's things like this and your consistent and amazing communication that make me look forward to what the future has in store for you guys.

Grrrrr. Due to the G Forum moratorium, I knew nothing of the KS campaign until afterwards. However it's not like the $79 price is a bad deal either . . .

Well it was obvious we didn't think the sale thru like we should have. I mean it was never meant to slight anyone but it was clearly something I would have been disappointed with. I mean not only did web orders have a better price but they also got shipped faster in some cases. This is not in any way malicious or us valuing anyone more but proof that we needed KS to get us on a path of improvement
THANK YOU!!!

Is it for any KS backer? I didn't back any denim during the KS. Just a couple bags. Still waiting on the black oiled tote with the black handles though.

Any idea if you'll ever get the Summer Blues fabric in? Probably one of the only denims I'll ever back. That and a super duper heavy weight fabric.

We are looking into some new stuff. I am sure I will be heading to look at fabric soon so if I can get it you will have it. Unlike Gustin we buy the fabric we sell so we have to make sure we sell what we bought before adding more. I mean certain denims we wouldn't mind having some deadstock yardage of but some are continuous runs so having left over makes no sense. SOme of the obvious denims are selling out fairly well so we can naturally replace those but we want to have a complete overhaul of all our fabric with a few exceptions.

That's pretty incredible. The only thing that worries me is how long LD can sustain these half-off offers. I don't want you guys to go under! I'm not complaining though...

Yeah, we should create this forum much sooner.... I think our wallets will be thanking us we did not actually. I had no problem paying full price and loading up once a year during the Black Friday sale. Pretty awesome perk though for those who did.

Roman has very little expenses compared to a brand that pays rent and has to pay for a factory to make his stuff. He just pays for fabric and salaries and a few other things like a bit of marketing. Iv said this before but he invested in the business himself so no loans with interest rates.

How do we know if we have been added to this auto KS discount group? Will we receive confirmation or will we see an automatic discount when we check out?

How do we know if we have been added to this auto KS discount group? Will we receive confirmation or will we see an automatic discount when we check out? You will know when you log in and you automatically get 50% off without putting in a code. I have it turned off because it would give everyone in that group the auto 50% off plus the ability to add the current 50% off code. I will begin adding everyone soon but need all the KS backers info 1st. For now you will not notice

Can I get added for being a long suffering, somewhat patient customer from the old website? Or you could ship my stuff, either option would be fine.
