Which size did you order ? XL. their chart was super screwy on the XX but I think XL will give me enough room for layers under. bugula, just out of curiosity, what made you go for this one over the Taylor Stitch one? who says i didn't get the TS one too.  i'm not sure i'm a fan of TS's shirt cuts on me. love their pants though. will compare the two when they show up. |

Hmmm...emailed TS and they changed my CPO over to a grey one and I received my order from Apolis today. They sent me the navy chore coat instead of the CPO and the CPO's now sold out. The chore coat's a pricier item but I don't really need another chore coat...decisions decisions.

That chore coat looks very nice. Maybe you can benefit a member here by selling it at the price you paid if you decide not to keep it. Just an idea.

Yeah, I just went over it and am definitely going to keep it. Bummed that I've got the G IxI coming but this thing is so well made. I was eyeing the indigo striped one but will settle on this for the $100 less I received it for.  I'll get some pictures up this week - I'm so impressed with this piece. It's the first time I've purchased from them but it's not going to be the last now. Here's hoping TS can get my CPO back over to a navy. Hahahah! |

I really like Apolis. I have a few items but my favorite by far is my wool indigo chore coat. I ordered the Gustin waxed chore coat and it just didn't look/feel right for me. I am trying to convince myself not to buy the grey chore coat they have through context clothing.  |

Got my Apolis CPO in yesterday and the TS CPO in today. Unfortunately TS didn't change the color out so I'm not going to open it before sending back, making me pause the comparison experiment.
From look/feel, the Apolis Melton wool is leaps and bounds above the TS wool which reminds me of the super big and heavy authentic shirts they're modeled after. Nothing wrong with that as I've got a F&O that is very similar to the TS but it's just heavy and scratchy while the Apolis has a great smooth/soft hand feel to it and a nice modern fit. That being said, it was twice as much as the TS one and you'd have to decide how often you'd be wearing it to make the cost worthwhile.
I tried getting some photos together but the sun's just washing everything out at my place and I doubt I could do anything better than what they have on their site. I will get a material comparison together though if/when I get the grey TS one in.

forgot to mention that the shirt's got hidden handwarmer pockets at the side seams. i had no idea they were there and they're perfectly executed - a little touch that makes the cost v. value discussion a little tougher to decide a winner in.

Picked up the Navy CPO from Apolis as well, it showed up yesterday. The XL size was bang on for layering for me. Love it. I saw the handwarmer pockets in the pictures, that's what sold it for me. |

I have the following Apolis pieces: Chambray Shirt, L Utility Chinos, Red, 38 Civilian Chinos, Khaki, 36 Archive Jacket, L I would say they compare larger than Gustin. My Apolis size L chambray button up is about the same as my Gustin XL shirts. The Archive Jacket in L fits me just right, and I have like a 43 inch chest. |

I measured an old LL Bean shirt-jack, that I wear as an overshirt. I compared those numbers to the Apolis chart and selected an XL. It fit perfectly. I can easily layer a sweater or regular shirt under it. So you'll probably be okay with measuring a shirt that fits you well for the role you want the CPO for (overshirt, heavy shirt over a tee, whatever). |

Chore Coat Owners-
Maybe this is common knowledge, in which case I apologize. But does washing/soaking your chore coat speed up or slow down the fading process?

I didn't do anything to my indigo chore coat and I feel like it fades pretty fast. I am probably due for a cleaning though...
