As an AFC guy, props to the Broncos defense for the dominant game. I feel like the Panthers never quite got their game off the ground. I was surprised it didn't turn into a shootout late as I expected. I'm just thankful for how quickly Wade Phillips recognized that playing prevent was going to lose them the game. As long as they were keeping pressure on Newton he just couldn't get settled. I'd bet it was a great learning experience for that whole team, though, I'm sure they're gonna come back stronger next year, hopefully with a little bit of humility.

The thing that has me annoyed is that the local channel has pre-empted the live Colbert show to essentially run the Lombardi trophy presentation on repeat for the last hour and a half. No player interviews, no interesting commentary, just a bunch of reporters saying nothing interesting with no insight.

Carolina played against, and torched, the Seattle defense and the Arizona defense. Two of the best in the league. But he was not prepared for the Denver d. They are on another planet. Damn they play fast and swarm so quickly to the ball/QB. Peyton Manning just Trent Dilfered his way to his second Super Bowl ring. Good on him.
But HOW TF WAS TALIB STILL IN THE GAME AFTER THAT FACE MASK. That was straight vicious. Should have been ejected. He had so many fouls this game that he would have fouled out from an NBA game. Also, how did they blow that challenge so badly. Not going to say it cost the Panthers the game, but on the ensuing possession, Denver had a fumble 6, so it was such a huge swing.

I was certainly expecting him to be removed from the game after the end of that drive. Three fouls in a row! He hit the pre-workout a little too hard before the game it seems. I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up on another team next year with how sloppy he plays. He pulls off some amazing plays but he's too much of a liability on such a strong defense. That catch that they called incomplete, that was definitely a gift, and I'm sure people are upset about the officiating in the Carolinas but Cam just wasn't ready for what came at him today. He remembered the Tom Brady strategy for dealing with Von Miller and the Broncos secondary from the footage after three or four sacks -- he started looking just like Brady did in the afc championship game throwing the ball away all the time.

I thought it was pretty terrible of the refs to let him stay. It was injustice after nearly ripping the guys head off to give the Panthers half the distance to the goal which was like 2 yards. But I don't think Panthers would have won regardless. But it would have been a lot closer. Panthers defense showed up too, they just had to deal with all those bad turnovers by the offense.

Worst Superbowl game, with the worst half time show and worst SB commercials.
Luckily, the hosting city is great.

Worst Superbowl game, with the worst half time show and worst SB commercials. Luckily, the hosting city is great. You just have to be able to appreciate watching a supremely dominant defense. Reminded me of the Ravens like 15 years ago. It was like watching a horror movie. "Look out behind you! Ouch, got em. Look out beside you! Ouch, got em." The O-line didn't do Cam any favors, and his receivers dropped so many passes. It was just an all around awful offensive performance, but mainly because Denver spent as much time in the Panthers backfield as the Panthers did.

Yeah I actually found it a pretty entertaining game as a neutral. I love watching great defenses as much as I love watching great offenses. This was a defensive battle and the better defense came out on top. This Denver D is top notch. It's the Orange Crush version 2.0.

That was my impression after watching the AFC Championship Game, and how much Denver reminded me of the "Orange Crush" D from back in the day. It show that defense is the name of the game, when you get to this point in the season. I just hope Manning, and the offense take the D guys out for a night on the town, because they couldn't take much credit for winning.

Both defenses played phenomenally. It came down to the Broncos not committing as many turnovers. Thomas Davis Jr played with a broken forearm. What a beast. Here's a link. Don't want to post up the actually pic in case some are squeamish.

You goddam well better be buying Von Miller whatever the hell he wants tonight for giving you your second ring." I really hope the Broncos can move on in the QB position, I'm sick of watching Manning decline. He's always been bad about sacrificing his receivers (safety bearing down full speed? eh, I've got time to get the ball in there) for four yards on third and ten. It was great when Osweiler was under center since he can throw AND move. Anyway, all the commentary I've seen has the full knowledge that the defense won this game, just like they did every other game Manning started this season.

I always wonder why players and teams think it's better to have a dude with a serious injury keep playing rather than have someone that isn't dealing with a serious injury play (especially after watching Manning set interception records or whatever), but I'm not in charge of the Panthers depth chart, and don't know what the repercussions would have been of letting a guy with a broken arm sit it out.

Thomas Davis's instincts and legs will get him wherever he needs to be, and that's a huge advantage over a backup who barely played any snaps all year.

I was just hoping that he didn't hand the game to Carolina, and found myself wishing that Marvin Harrison was playing.

Surprised he's still alive to accept his HoF induction.

How would one wear those? Boots or Sneakers? Button up or T Shirt? Well I'm a Browns fan so I guess I'd have to go out and buy a jersey and instant gameday uniform. I'm a Dolphins fan, but I'm not running to buy those and a turquoise shirt to make a gameday uniform. Also, you sad sap. You got the one OC I wanted fired for years as your next head coach. He's terrible at in game adjustments and play calls. Not that the Dolphins did much better with Gase, but still.

We're always stuck in some idiotic limbo of ownership wanting to compete now but not having the personnel to do so. So we always finish around 7-9 and land a crappy draft pick. This year we actually cracked the top ten, but promptly traded that pick away for a middling draft pick and Eagles' overpriced castoffs. We need new ownership and a new GM. Until then, I'm a teamless NFL fan.

Just wait for our epically bad pick at 4. Probably a deep snapper. Only our owner thinks Romo is any good.

Just wait for our epically bad pick at 4. Probably a deep snapper. Only our owner thinks Romo is any good. Romo is the only chance you guys have to make the playoffs. Eagles have made themselves a rebuilding project, the Giants are in win now mode, and I think Skins overachieved last year with one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. NFC East will always be a battle between Cowboys and Giants, and a healthy Romo will be the only chance Dallas will have to compete. With the O-line you guys have, if they draft Elliott at 4, they will have a nasty one two punch of Run DMC/Elliott, and Romo airing it out any other time.
