Thanks guys, I may try that double cuff technique this time. I've had issues with the cuff line wearing (bottom of cuff) wearing out and ripping. I would like to avoid that on this pair! I think this mostly happens when guys set the cuff, and then leave it for extended periods of time. The cuffs will collect dirt, and debris, which adds to the problem, as it is abrasive, and expedites the wearing of the cuff line. I don't cuff all that often, but when I do, I'll unfold it from time to time, and clean it out, and periodically change the cuff, so it doesn't set a permanent crease. This should help.

I didn't soak my 21's and I've been wearing them pretty much everyday--really loving these things. Anybody getting any crocking? I noticed a little indigo on the hem of my khaki workshirt but I also wore it with my Secret's and I know those are more prone to it even after a soak. We gotta get Old26 his pair, dammit! has it softened up a lot? I wouldn't say a lot but they are very wearable and not torture at all.

You are right, I have a permanent cuff in my Heavy Americans that is wearing out quickly. I now clean out the cuff much more regularly than I did in the past. I also placed a strip of athletic tape on the back side of the cuff for added protection. This seems to be helping a lot as well.

Yes, I discovered myself caressing the cuff of my jeans while I was watching the Super Bowl and thought you guys would want to know about it.

Just put on the 21's. First impressions Stiffer then I was expecting (not BEAST Stiff), wearable but will need to be broken in. which I'd assume will give some good creasing and fades. Seem to have been sewn up to spec. Rise is much better/bigger then the Antique's. Should fit nicely for me. They have a nice open weave, which makes them not as saturate and dark. nice color, almost has a dusty/muted look. 21ozs is very easy to wear. But won't be wearing them over 70 degrees (no need to). All and all very pleased. These may scratch that IH heavy denim itch.

For what little it's worth, my 22oz Oni are actually much cooler than my Okayama Standards and really not much warmer than my 11oz RgT. Kinda hoping the 20oz anniversary Ciano are a little warmer.

Just when I was singing the praises of the j21, the button popped off. Is this an easy fix, or a return?

I was able to button up the J21s all the way up, but man, the inseam is crazy on these. Anyone get these hemmed? Should I go to ABFits or Railcar to get it done, or is Manny/CF able to do it? Going to need to chop off at least 3" off the inseam to make these work.

I believe ABFits typically only does chainstitch hems up to 20oz

I believe ABFits typically only does chainstitch hems up to 20oz Way back when, ABFits told me they could handle my IH 21 oz. Ciano makes heavyweight jeans. Railcar did my Gustin Beasts. I thought Manny said he could handle heavy also, but I may be mistaken.

Just FYI. I was told 20 not too long ago, but maybe they've changed their mind. I think they told me their chainstitch machine starts acting up on heavier denim, but i'd have to dig up my old email to confirm. He should still contact whoever just to be sure. It would suck to go through the expense of shipping your jeans across the country only to find out they can't accommodate you

Them saying ok to my 21s was ages ago, so it could be that something has changed. Kinda like how my Beasts broke Railcar. Haha whoops.

I brought my Strike Gold's into one of the local shops that offers chainstitch hems and was pleased with the result. It cost $25 + tax but I used to send my jeans to abfits. I was only really saving money if I sent at least 3 pairs @ $15 + shipping both ways. Now I'm just going to do them locally

Ah okay, will contact them. Thanks!
This reminds me, now that I have the J21s in hand, anyone interested in Beasts size 33 Slim, unworn and too small for me to try on? Thinking $120 shipped CONUS.

I got the 21s today. I'm impressed. Sewed up to spec. Fits really well. Its the heaviest pair I've ever bought and they're about as stiff as the Heavy American. Will need a bit of break in but pretty happy with them. Now hopefully my tailor can hem them without breaking stuff.

With so many reporting the 21s coming to spec, I may wind up selling mine.....
I'm still holding out hope they come at least a half size down. I'll know for certain, tomorrow.

I sent mine in to manny for some Tapering and hemming. Let's see how it turns out. I'm confident he will do a good job.
