I got a shipping notice but it hasn't moved yet, so I'd guess a big batch is going to the post office today. I hope they're all in there so we can get on with the sizing complaints.

Just know that unless something has changed, the blackxcoals tend to smell of sulphur. Pretty strong, actually. I work with chemicals daily so it prolly wouldn't bother me but I guess my nose hairs are all gone by now haha. I got a pair of the coals in the last batch and they didn't have a strong smell. It was my grab bag pair of Cone blacks that stank like an old chimney for months

[bra/quote]Same here, chief. As noted above, us bigger guys all still seem to be on the wait list. I'm still waiting, too, and I ordered a 33 for what it's worth. Methinks Gustin is letting more than just a few of us twist.

My Japan 21s arrived yesterday. Sewed up within spec. Inseam was a little long; came in at 37". I did a warm soak on the legs for an hour last night and got an inch of shrinkage on the inseam (now 36"). They are super stiff, but now fit perfectly. These are definitely going to be one of my favorite pairs of Gustins especially considering the price. I sure hope everyone else gets theirs and within spec. Also, my selvedge came with a little extra flare.

SlimFatty it's the new template that helps you get perfect rolled cuffs

That's the point that the loom had to be restarted. You should be able to see that on any selvedge edge, but most folks trim it down at least a little.

Mine just came in and I just measured. Came in within small side spec in thigh (thank god) and leg opening smaller by 1/4 of an inch (good for me), 1 inch short on inseam and again good for me because I sized up to 34 slim.
Not within spec on these parts but I hit the damn jackpot. Waist for 34 slims came in at 33.5 being generous on my part. Rise 10.4 vs 10.1 and again I am actually happy with that. Going to hot soak and measure and probably send in to Manny at Indigogene for hemming.

My 21s just arrived, these things are substantial. My 32 slims came in at right about 32 and fit me very well, no QC issues here. They did come buttoned up, I don't remember this on other pairs of G's. I am guessing some one measured these before they were sent out.
Are most of you guys soaking these right away or just wearing them right out of the bag?
Also, this form should have a topic on cuffing jeans. I know there are a lot of ways to cuff and not all of them work out the best. I would love to hear advice from some of the experts out there.

Just got my Okayama standards. My first pair of gustin denim. Needless to say I was a little nervous about them sewing up to spec after the chatter here, but these are bang on spec.

I know there are a lot of ways to cuff and not all of them work out the best. I would love to hear advice from some of the experts out there. Take a length of jean pant leg, whilst wearing boots or shoes, and cuff it upwards in one large cuff so that the leg is still a little long (eg. touching your shoes and causing SOME stacking) and and then take the bottom of that cuff and fold it upwards so the bottom of the cuff meets at or just below the top of the cuff. You are essentially folding the entirety of that large cuff in 2, in effect reducing the cuff by 1/2. This, in my opinion, creates the perfect cuff for me. It's more aesthetically pleasing to me personally as it doesn't look like a roll. It looks like one cuff inset into another. See attached photo of my RRL rigid chinos cuff.

whiskeyriver your method of cuffs on pants is the same as how to roll up the sleeves on a shirt. Linky..

I usually hem my jeans at 31.5" after a cold soak, but for non-soaked jeans I get them hemmed at 32" to account for shrinkage after a machine wash & hang dry.

Thanks guys, I may try that double cuff technique this time. I've had issues with the cuff line wearing (bottom of cuff) wearing out and ripping. I would like to avoid that on this pair!

I'm hot soaking them right away because after sizing up they have some extra room. I believe they will be perfect after. Normally I just wear them right out of the package.
Also they aren't as rigid as I expected. But I should add that I have been wearing the CF23s for the last 5-7 days.

Got my pair of 21s today.. These came right on spec, when I was hoping they'd come a little under..
Would drying the jeans in a dryer after a soak shrink them much at all? And would the shrink in the thigh, knee, inseam be permanent?
