With the manly expressions of love for manly clothing around here, I assume there's some manly love for manly jerky meat. I've been into micro-jerky for almost two years and have used www.bestbeefjerky.org to find producers worth testing out. I'm currently working through a third delivery from Redneck Seasonings. Their limeapeño flavor is my favorite and the danse macabre will leave you panting for water if you like the hot stuff.

It's fairly addictive. I actually make my own at home - started small and upgraded to a 9 tray dehydrator earlier this year. Much cheaper to make it yourself - I get flavor ideas from trying other's releases.

I love beef jerky and had contemplated buying a dehydrator. I tend to like jerky that's very tender, as opposed to some brands that have tougher meat. Sweet Baby Ray's jerky is pretty decent. I have zero experience with artisan jerky and haven't seen much of it around. If only the wife understood my love affair with cured meats

I need to start making jerky. Will check out that site. I would just want to keep the ingredients healthy as some jerky has extra preservatives, MSG, junk added etc.I have a lot of venison from deer hunting and I know people make good jerky from that. Very lean, organic protein. My brother bought a smoker and just started smoking fish, sturgeon, suckers, this last fall. I love smoked things also. I like eating things that taste good and are good for you.

My father in-law always gifts me venison beef sticks after hunting season. He's even had venison bacon made at his butcher. Good stuff. My only issue with beef jerky (& meat products in general) is that once I've consumed a bag it's like the campfire scene out of Blazing Saddles at my house. I usually get quarantined, or kicked out ?
