Ever since the materials arrived I have been working on a watch style skull cap. Here's the completed skull cap on top of my full length hat for scale.
I'll get better pictures up tomorrow... I'll take one !

Here is a review for my most excellent super duper heavy baby alpaca hat made by our very own unnamed of 4Cs Fine Knitwear. We talked about what I wanted/needed and we decided on this extra heavy wool for keeping me warm on Minnesota's extreme cold days. Alpacha is ounce for ounce one of the warmest materials around. Also keeps you warm when wet. I put 3 different colors together and with unnamed helped come up with a design. I believe all the colors are natural dye. The wool is very soft but also substantial. The thickness would not be needed on your average cold day unless your head has a tendency to get cold. The wool is not ichy at all. When I wear anything other than merino, alpacha or fur hats my forehead gets very itchy. I have taken pictures against my 100% merino wool watch caps from Triple Aught Design. As you can see the 4C hat is much bigger and thicker. The 4C hat also has a different design which at first I wasn't sure about. The cuff does not roll up like the TAD hat the cuff is just thicker. After discussing I decided it was worth a try and am glad I went with the design he has been perfecting. It feels very good on the head and looks great also. It fits me very well and will also fit my wife who has a bigger head and 8 year old son so the sizing is very forgiving. I expect this hat will last for many years. I have to keep myself from losing it. When you get something nice like this you do have a natural tendency to keep a better eye on it. Thanks for the great work. These were the colors in case anyone else wants any of them in their hat. Cuff/bodynatural-black-chunky Body/dusk-bnchunky Body/top/silver-chunky

Thanks for the great work. Your very welcome Winterland. Thanks for the great review. I believe all the colors are natural dye. The black is natural black baby alpaca color, the dusk is organic plant/mineral dye, and silver is the regular dye.

300g of super rare Aspero cotton ordered... What do you plan on making with it? I might be in for something to cover my head during the coming ice age.

unnamed what color(s) did you get? I may be interested in a skull/watch cap. Off white. It would be fun to dip in natural indigo

Then you'd have the natural antibacterial properties of the Kakishabu and the cool indigo. (But definitely do a test first). Would make for a killer hat.

And some more pictures of the standard length Aspero hat... Brushed the interior. Are these all project hats you made, or products you're selling?

So I got a baby alpaca watch cap from unnamed in indigo color. And I must say this hat is amazing. The quality and craftsmanship is truly top notch. It feels like something that will last and I will own for years. It is a perfect color for wearing with denim, and it is insanely soft and warm. See below for how it fits on the head and over the ears. Perfect!! I feel pretty lucky to own this hat, and will buy another one next season in a different shade for sure!

Very glad you like the hat whiskeyriver . Looks great on you. Thanks for helping me develop a new hat design. Maybe we should call this new model the Whiskeyriver. Haha! I like the sound of that!

Here is my 4C Alpaca hat in use doing some Minnesota skiing with my son. I have been wearing it all winter when spending any length of time outside. Has kept me warm even in our subzero temps. More skiing Friday. I learned not to wear cuffed jeans when going skiing. Difficult to tuck into your ski boots.
