Boom, shipping notice on my duck pants. Priority usually only takes a day within TX so there will be pics tomorrow.

I've been avoided these entire Ciano Threads (just have enough Denim/jeans/pants/chinos) But Dang these Duck 5pockets and chinos look nice! Didn't know you guys had this going on over hear. Denim looks good to. I'll be looking to grab a pair (or more) of these Ducks (not sure about the 37oz, but I hope some of you guys grab a pair and post up some pics and thoughts)

I've been trying to keep this on the DL so I can get Made in TX workwear quickly at a fair price. Seriously, though, Ciano and Mike have been great so far and I can't wait to see these pants today or tomorrow. If the fit is good I'll be looking for heavier weight or double knee as soon as possible.
CF should probably open up a shop to market to the bourgeois hipsters in Austin. The jeans I bought at Traveller (made in Austin) were 3x his price and their lined truckers are $400-$500.

I've talked with Ciano, and he and Mike seem like a couple of good ol'e Texas boys that make tough work wear for the farmer, and working man. I can really appreciate someone who won't put out a product, unless they can guarantee it for life. I know of no one else who offers this. Ciano told me they get farmers who bring in their pants after the season is over, and they repair them for free for the next season. I have a pair of chinos ordered up, and like usctroll, am waiting to see how the fit works, and look forward to ordering some heavier stuff. Their fit is like the vintage XX levis 501s, so I expect a bit more room to them, but that is good for getting stuff done in them, vs work wear that is overly fitted. These guys even repair, and machine parts for their Union Specials, to keep them operating.

It's not possible yet to order the duck canvas via their site, right? can't see anything other than denim... That's normal? But ciano farmer seems very very promising.

If I happened to be in their area, I'd want to drop in to say hi, like I would with Roman and Lawless.

They are currently sourcing materials, and working on samples. I would expect them to add the duck to their website soon. I also know they are experimenting with some really heavy stuff, but the challange is if they can work with their current sewing machines. It takes a different animal to sew up super heavy fabric, and the machines to do this are several thousand dollars.

Don't know how to express it correctly, but when I look at my Gustin jeans, they are so uniform that they feel no difference than any of the mall brands. However, when I look at or put on my pair of Ciano 20oz, the workmanship may not be perfect but you can feel the work being put into the pair of my jeans. I have also grown to love all the extra details, like the coin buttons, larger back pocket and the tailor waist.

MiddleAge: What fit did you go with in the Ciano, and what fit do you wear in Gustin, and how do they compare as far as room in the legs and butt?

Thanks Middle. The reason I'm trying the Ciano's is that although I like my Gustin chinos, they are very fitted, and for me don't offer the ultimate in comfort. OK for dressing up, but not laying on the floor playing with grandchildren comfortable. The Ciano 905 fit guide seems spot on to some buttery soft Carhartts double loggers I have. I think the 901 would be too slim for me, although they don't appear to be too slim for you. Now just playing the waiting game to see how they fit, and where to go from there. One good thing is that Ciano will alter them for you if you need to adjust them.

I'm in. cianofarmer is the binding color customizable? sorry the binding is not customizable...we use a cotton twill and the only color in stock is off white and black...I can get a custom color but i have to order 50k yards...it would be smaller quantity if i order it overseas but we buy it from a supplier in NC..ALL USA

I believe this is one of the reasons that people want to order from these guys, because they can get a custom fit, and not just a generic fit guide that doesn't work for everyone. My concern is the cost will eventually go up a lot of higher for everyone because of the minority. our cost will not go up..I can not speak for Roman but he is a true artisans when it comes to his product...The other brands depend on a factory concept and pay for a service to develop their concepts and dreams. And I am sure most of these brands have never sewn up a pair of denim in there life. Roman and myself make our concept and dreams come true with our own hands... The greatest satisfaction is to see someone wear something you made with your own hands...It is as if I changed the world a little bit. I am sure Roman feels the same. My prices will not go up..we are working on trying to get the cost down...and the cost will go down the faster we produce. I apologize in advance if I have offended anyone, but Roman and myself are few to come by now days...he spirt that goes into making our product is the same as when the USA was at its peek of the Henry Ford days and the 1800's Industrial Revolution the the USA...

The 12oz pair should probably arrive today. Also, I like what you have to say about making the pants vs designing and having a sewing shop in the US or Japan make them. To me that's the difference between you, Roman, Traveller and a company like Gustin.
