I kinda like the blk/grey denim

I kinda like the blk/grey denim I've been trying to beat my stupid Italian BxB into submission, with reasonable success. The BxG don't look that different raw, but being Japanese, I bet they'll fade a lot quicker and maybe you'll get a greyer weft, instead of white like mine. Wish I cared enough to pay for the Left Field Black Marias, but black jeans are pretty low on my GAS meter.

I'd like to see Left Field offer more denims, but I think he's a smaller operation. I haven't had any black jeans for probably 40 years, and have no itch for them now. I do love the greaser cut though. Best flat out fitting pair I own.

Tempted to try the blue weft, but can't really warm to Chinese denim.

Inky and saturated color, and not much starch to them, which made them very comfortable. I have to think it might have something to do with the twisted weft but who knows. I was hesitant to try Xinjiang denim at first, but after talking to the dude at LF, he said it was good denim, but offers a more affordable entry point to the jeans, so I figured what the heck. I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat, if they get some heavier stuff. The blue weft does look pretty cool. I wonder why they only had it sewn up in the chelsea fit?

I have an 18 oz collect mills in the chelsea and its a pretty reasonable cut. Despite it being their slim cut, it's looser in the thighs than any other slim cut pant I own. I like 'em. The Chinese denim is not my thing, but the owner has expressed a desire on instagram to make his clothing more affordable, or at least provide some more affordable options. I applaud him for that. There is some irony in the fact that most of the work wear that we talk about here is not really something many tradesmen could afford. You can have the cost/value debate all you want, but Larry the plumber ain't gonna look twice at a $250 pair of denim. Now, I don't necessarily think Larry is gonna go for a $185 pair of chinese denim either, but hey, baby steps. At least LF NYC is committed to US production (cough, TS, cough...) I don't own the Black/Blue denim collab, but I am a great supporter of the store as I have said here in the past (in fact, the pants and shirt I am wearing today were purchased there). There are some good fades to be had.

I'm not really a fan of fade-to-grey denim, even though the G offering looks cool. The other thing that gives me pause is they state that the weft is a metallic grey, so makes me think these would be glittery jeans. On the subject of those rare G denim offerings, i'm curious if anyone has received their cobalt jeans that they offered awhile back.

Anyone know a good alternative for shirts, that are similar to Gustin's shirts? Gustin's shirts almost fit me perfectly (a tad too tight in the chest with the classic medium), but I'm kind of tired of what they have been offering. I was looking at Taylor Stitch, but their shits are too expensive for me. Over $100 for a button down is just too damn high. JCrew's shirts fit me weird, and I'm not sure where else to go. Any suggestions?

I kinda like the bedford cordoroys they just dropped. If only they were heavier, like 12oz I might bite. At least G seems to be adding more fabrics which was seriously lacking this past Spring.

Any suggestions? Ratio shirts!! They have a few fabrics (mostly oxfords) that are under $100. They are custom fit for you too, so no worries about weird fit. Highly recommended. Best shirts I own. Other options for under $100: I've heard good things about Stock Mfg. (https://stockmfgco.com/). Buck Mason These are all made in USA options BTW, which is kinda what I look for. Not sure I could provide a lot of insight for shirts made elsewhere.

Did the CPOs get simplified, or have they just brow beaten me into not thinking it's as stupid as when I first saw it?

Did the CPOs get simplified, or have they just brow beaten me into not thinking it's as stupid as when I first saw it? THey look the same to me. Still not a fan of the sleeve pocket. Otherwise, I'd seriously consider picking one up. I had thought about getting one and removing the pocket, but I'm afraid there would be some weird looking imprint on the sleeve or something.

Hopefully if enough of us get on board they'll add more material, as that's their only real weakness. I've had good luck with the cheap Huckberry Flint & Tinder shirts if you're just looking for staples, but beyond white, grey and blue OCBD, Ratio is your best bet.

I'm thinking about the green. I was hoping that TS would drop some regular green camp pants. I cant stand the current TS camp pants release with the pre washed look, it's like buying old clothes. Am still pondering these G's though, but I am starting to grow tired of the tightness of the G fit. More FR & RR please. Ease up on the nuts and the thighs.

I love that we keep having this discussion and you guys keep looking and posting ideas. I've been teetering off the G thing but the fit and fabrics still work for me. That stock link, I don't care for any of those fabrics. The Ratio, expensive for any of the fabrics I like, though I'm sure I will buy one day. This is a cool shirt from Buck that I could actually fit into: pima.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/product_image/file/460/buck-mason_bleached_indigo_pearl_snap_750_2.jpg

Do you buy Talls? Those greatly reduce the curtains. At 6'2", the one regular G OCBD I have is tucked in front and back, but the side gusset is only about 1cm under my belt before I move at all. It's a shirt that's been reduced to under sweater duty only.
Doesn't help that the placket isn't centered or aligned and the collar is longer on one side than the other.

And re: the bedford cords. I was just looking at the G site and I noticed that the Green Jeans look much better than the bedford cords. Reason? It appears to me that G did NOT adjust the cut for the fabric so the bedford fabric clings tighter to the models legs making them look too tight imo. I do remain attracted to the Indigo Jaquard fabric but at 8.75oz I don't want an OCBD and I'd like a little more room. I have found that like the pants phenomena listed above, that the heavier the shirting fabric the worse the G fit. For example, their 3.5 oz poplin's fit me the best.

Could just be the model is wearing a skinny fit GDSFM Your probably right. Now do I care enough to email Gustin and ask? Feels like a job at this point.
