honestly GUSTIN nails it bedt with their product description for the twills; "A heaver gauge yarn and a slightly looser weave give it a vintage, lived in feel right from the start." It's soft like the flannels but a bit beefier, extremely comfortable. They really do have this vintage, lived in, old school kind of feel. Would you describe it as a buttery feel? Sorry, I'll show myself out now... ha...actually yes, the flannels are buttery soft, seriously.

I hate the word buttery. I can't eat food from restaurants now if they used buttery to describe the dish. I have no butter in my house anymore. Only eat plain popcorn no more butter flavoring. I hate the word.

No need to eat plain popcorn brentkuz, put you Gustin flannel on there. Delicious.

I hate the word. You do realize it's only my honor and solidarity as a fellow Rhode Islander that is saving you from a Gustinfriends style reworking of the Meow Game, right? Don't think I'm just buttering you up, though, because I thought long and hard about pointing out how you sure wrote butter an awful lot in that post for a guy who hates the word buttery. But I figured, nah, butter not. That would be juvenile. Discretion is the butter part of valor.

Dear, 8-pound, 6-ounce, newborn infant Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant and so cuddly, but still omnipotent, baby Jesus..I want to thank you that someone else copped that pair of 36 straight Loomstates off the stock page so I didn't go spending more money that I don't need to spend this year. 2014 Ickes would have copped those the moment he saw them on Friday night, but the new fiscally responsible 2015 Ickes said "whoa partner, slow down there. You have one pair of Loomies already, a fresh pair of Okayamas that you just bought off the stock store that fit you perfectly, and a pair of HAs and Japan Union Blues on the way. You're good." I'm actually doing pretty damn good this year practicing more control over my clothing expenses. I have refrained from backing 6 items from G so far this year that I would have instantly backed last year. I think I shall now reward myself by backing one of the Twills today , f!@k I should have bought those Loomies off the stock page!

Good job resisting the temptation or at least trying to. I've been pretty good lately. I must say having all of you enablers doesn't help but hey, I can rationalize it to be enablers' fault each time I can't control myself . The only item of clothing I've ordered so far in 2015 is E4 N&F. The deal was too good to be passed up on. I mostly consider my small collection pretty much complete. Wore the Okayama's for the first time today; I walked around in -15C for 3 hours and I felt fine. They are super comfortable right off the bat. The texture is smooth and a little fuzzy with just the right amount of weft showing through. The colour on this thing is something special. It seems like a blend of indigo and dark grey / slate - it is quite mesmerizing. The only fabrics I would jump on right away would be loomstates and / or Beasts. Rest I think I'm covered.

I'm bummed I missed that $90-some deal on the E4s! The two pairs I want most to round out my initial collection are those and Momotaro's Zimbabwe 18s.

Hold tight, the last time I conversed with Ciano, he is waiting on some 24oz denim, which in my opinion, is close enough to beast material. I have a pair of beast myself, but could be tempted when he gets this, and can get a look.

I passed on Okas in the stock store (would have been a second pair). I'm still going strong on my 90 day no buy. I've got a really strict criteria for denim in place when the 90 days period is up as well. The only thing that might be bingeworthy are LD jeans at the 5 year KS discount once they get a bit more smoothed and buttery on lead times. Other than that, new jeans had butter be around 20oz, super interesting or unsanforized or I don't need it. These days there are a million great choices of raw, sanforized denim in the 12-16 oz range and rakuten transactions are buttery smooth with the Yen down. I'll buy jeans as I need them. I'm in break in mode and all the buttery marketing hype is just noise. Meow.

@stevekas, agree completely.
Now that I'm down to a 34 Slim, I'd like to get one or two more pairs of jeans but that's all I'll need.
Rakuten has me moving away from this KS model. It's great getting something shortly after I've paid, especially since the price is not really much higher.
That said, I might try Railcar Fine Goods for my next pair of jawns.

I almost bought a pair of rail cars but then Gustin dropped the down town browns and saved me a good chunk of cash.

Funny you guys brought up Railcar. I want to stop by there and get some jeans chainstiched/hemmed. I'm scared though. I don't want to buy anything. It will be like going to a liquor store after a month of not drinking. BTW thanks Mattbert. My GF now hates me and the meow game. She just needs more exposure I think....

If I didn't already have the Slate Blue Twill, I might have talked myself into the Plant Dye Chambray. Bloody expensive for a single shirt, though. I don't know, once you get well over $100 I'm looking for some little details that really make a shirt special. The fabric looks amazing, but some more interesting buttons would be nice. And if they ran the red selvage ticker up the front of the button side of the placket so that you'd just see it peeking out up near the collar I think that would be an interesting touch to make the shirt look a little more premium.
Anyway, other than that...yeah. Yawn.

Fit is King and Gustin shirt looks poorly on me especially untuck. Tight top block, loose waist and long length. No reason to pay over $50 for a shirt that make an impression to others that I am clueless of what a good fitting shirt should be like.

Sure seems like the spark is gone there - on denims at least. Was so hopeful to see something sexy to offset the competition, but nada. Gustin's cut on jeans is still really excellent for me, and I'd go for something out of the ordinary if they dropped it.

I'm really hoping for The Charcoal with contrast stitching to come back. The Charcoal is the perfect grey denim imo and it surprises me that it has actually been so rare in the GUSTIN world. I can only remember two campaigns and the last one had to have been a year ago or more. I love my tonal pair but my quads and glutes have outgrown them so I need a replacement with contrast stitching.

Gustin's cut on jeans is still really excellent for me, and I'd go for something out of the ordinary if they dropped it. Well, to be fair, in the past few weeks they've had the following denims that I'd consider at least a little out of the ordinary: Postal Herringbone Japan Royal Indigo Pure Indigo Silk Zimbabwe Italy Sea Blue Italy Sky Natural Indigo X Persimmon Italy Double Ink Then back just before Christmas they ran the Cashmere, the Heather Greys, and the Organic Hemps in both charcoal and brown. It's a lot of indigo, for sure. But there is some pretty cool shit in there that I would have jumped on if I didn't already have more indigo than I can reasonably wear and fade well this year (including some of the very fabrics listed above). I'd like it if they dropped some more browns or greys or something really out there on us, but it's not like they've just been churning out boring crap lately.

Everything seems to be in slow motion over at G's. Twills, Flannels and jeans are all crawling along for days.

Out of those, only the Zim's were a consideration. Mainly it's weight, then color for me. I have a fairly narrow vision on denims so that's my problem. Herrinboners are great denims for shirts or coats, but I could never rock pants.
