I've almost talked myself into backing another pair.

I'm in the same boat. I've gotten used to heavier denim (21oz) and wearing Zim 18, I found them comfortable right away. Also, lighter denim just doesn't do it for me anymore, especially during winter. I'm eagerly awaiting Kuroki 18 from LD. Cannot agree more. Wearing my CF Kuroki 20oz since November and I have a hard time to wear anything lighter. Btw, I probably bought the wrong pairs of Gustin; Natural Indigo, True Blue Silk (sold), Rainbow Nep (sold). All three of the fabrics are not great (in my eyes). With Gustin jeans doesn't have any nice "Jeans detail" and the leg opening is too large for me, the triple whammy is causing me to not wear any Gustin indigo jeans since July last year. When the weather is warm, I wear my LVC and Lee. When the weather is cold, CF 20oz. ehhh...I used to feel that way when I first experienced heavier denims but now I feel that all weights have their place. I enjoy everything from the lightweights to the heavyweights for different reasons. Right now I'm in the 10-12 oz hunting mode as I don't have many in that range and there's a Phoenix summer creeping towards me and its just around the corner in terms of GUSTIN and LD wait times. and yes @wils, the three G denims you've owned are among my least favorite G fabrics.

I wish I was as excited with owning the Zimbs as you guys are. Hopefully in a few weeks, I will be able to fit in them. what size are yours? 33 Slims. I think I've gotten fat. Can't get into my Super Heavys either, and haven't even tried on my Raw Umbers yet.

But on the real, I want to be able to wear them first before deciding what to do with them. If I like these, I'm going to sell my Okayama Stds.

I should clarify my Okayama v Zimbs comment. Lately, as I realize I am now down to a 34 Slim in Gustin and stare at my pile of jawns that are all too big, I have started thinking, "who needs so many pairs of jeans?"
From my new found position of deniminimalism enlightenment, I figure if you have the Okayamas why spend the cash on the Zimbs? I own both and never, while wearing my Zimbs, stood awestruck, lost in indigo nirvana as I pondered the blessedness of long-staple cotton caressing my feeble human legs.
Could be just me though.

the coolest thing about them to me is that they feel so tough, sturdy, rugged, durable, starchy, and crisp on the outside but very comfortable and soft on the inside. Add to that the great Japanese texture and cool indigo shade with a greyish/greenish cast and you have an awesome pair of jeans I so don't need any more denim - esp blue denims. I just need to stay on my diet for a while - there's only so many pairs you can wear. I really had hoped for something like the CarbonXCoffee from G or LD. In 18-20oz. Plus one on the CarbonXCoffee, but we'll probably see these about the same time we see some 10-12oz flannel, IH excluded.

I was pretty stoked to see the Zimbabwe 15s back in the store this morning. The only pair of Gustin jeans I have right now (I'm waiting on the Italy Pink IDs) are the Okayamas, and I'm aware the 2 are generally pretty similar. I backed the Zims anyway, my reasoning being I love the Okayamas, and having another pair that are like them only better doesn't seem like a bad thing at all. Living in Australia, 15oz is really the top end of denim weight I'll ever need—even in deepest winter temperatures are rarely below 10 degrees C. I love the idea of 18oz plus denim, I just don't think I'd feel the benefit of it, it's just make me hot and uncomfortable.
Also living in Australia, the value of my money is plummeting against the US$, and if I don't back them this time around Lord knows how much they're going to cost me next time. (this is good rationale for spending on anything and everything I like the look of online at the moment.)

Carbonxcoffee I've been waiting since 2013 for that.
Hopefully Gustin gets some cool fabrics coming back. Something to push the envelope. I like the cashmere blend but want to see a review first.

It's just a goofy sort of meme from another forum I've been on for over a decade. It always makes me laugh when I see it, so I thought I'd see if would catch on here. There are four grades of concurrence: CONCUR, STRONGLY CONCUR, DISCONCUR, and STRONGLY DISCONCUR. I don't even remember the exact origin of this nonsense now, but for whatever reason it stuck. The key is that it's always in CAPSLOCK because you need to let everyone know that what comes afterwards is going to be VERY IMPORTANT.

This is merely an indication you do not have sufficient surface area in contact with the pure-spun essence of Brahman* that is the weft of the Zimbabwes. Open your mind, my son. And try the skinny fit. * As if we needed any further evidence that the path to ultimate understanding lies in the embrace of really kickass jeans. "Brah man"? I mean, come on.

I chumped up an paid the extra $ and backed the "monster" twill... I'm nervous to buy another patterned G shirt, but I've seen a positive trend in the quality of the shirts I've recd (I'll order >5oz solids) so figure I'll give it another try. FWIW as a guy who wears a classic large I find the fabric must be >=5oz or else the drape just doesn't work for me.

I think the monster twill will be killer when the collar overwhelms the little collar buttons. I just hope nobody gets hurt when they let go.

I did notice they've adjusted delivery time frames to 10-14 weeks though (April 2015), so it seems like there have been some adjustments made given recent tribulations.

As an button down collar it's redic! Why! Oh why. 9oz is basically what my $24 jcp "workshirt" is. I would rather pay $166-227 for an IH off Rakuten and get bumped to 12oz. The chore coat doesn't look like olive to me looks more like sand or a khaki color version. I really want to try a chore coat from G.

They tried a 4oz workshirt (RIP RUSTY) but they won't try a 9oz workshirt? Odd.
Little unsure about the cuff. Does anyone wear these east of NM/AZ/CA?

brentkuz if you're thinking of backing a chore coat, i think this and the army herringbone look the best. color seems off based on the description, but that's been true of several recent products. (wine shirt?) the corozo buttons look nicer than the metal (imo), and the price point is a bit lower than some of the other chore coat offerings.
