Good to know Mattbert - I want casual, so I will wait to see what LD come up with once they get caught up...

THAT! is what I am looking for. Not denim and not chore related jeans, I have plenty of those. Something a little more formal. Matt liking the kicks as well. Definitely keep an eye out for the Raw Umbers then, man. Just as @stevekas said, they're right in that sweet spot. Mine are my current go-to for when the situation probably calls for chinos but I think I can get away with playing it a little less safe. Thanks for the kind words on the kicks. Just looked 'em up and they are the 'Harbor' wingtip in brown canvas. Sperry also does them in blue canvas, a canvas/suede hybrid with red stitching, and various leathers. Construction is better than you'd expect for a shoe in that price range, and they're pretty comfy although I don't know if I'd want to spend a full day walking around in them if I was sightseeing in a new city on vacation or something. For daily wear around the office (and I work at a standing desk) they're perfectly fine.

the raw umbers are great, I really dig mine, but lets not talk about the Taupes. I just sold my pairof Taupes... ...My legs and ass just got too damn big for them. Awww, sadface. The Taupes are daupe on a raupe. Take a break from the AHNOLD routine and mix in some yoga.

Thanks for those suggestions. Need to try that. Edit: this is the RRL that I have. Bought it 4-5 years ago and I really like mine. the only problem is being pre-washed. Is the Taupe similar to this? item.rakuten.co.jp/colorwardrobe/rrl002-061-010/Hmmm. I was remembering the pics you posted in the RRL thread. Your pics look a lot more like the Taupes than those pics on Rakuten. The product photos on Rakuten look like those poor jeans have been through all kinds of treatment (and overdyed as well?) to get that pre-distressed appearance. Yours didn't look nearly so aggressively "processed", for lack of a better word. However, I still think they might be the same denim - the overall color, the twill line, and the selvedge ticker look very similar to me. What do you think?

those raw umbers look great Mattbert. i haven't been able to convince myself to back any italian denim since receiving my greyxblack last spring. they're at the bottom of the barrel in terms of 'favorite pairs' go. something about the texture just isn't my cup of tea and i've somehow convinced myself that anything coming from an italian mill will feel the same. I wasn't that wild about GxB either, actually. Mine had to go back because they were 37s instead of the 36s I ordered (oopsies), but I remember them being a little too much like a heavy suit trouser for my taste. If I'm going to wear something like that, it's because I need to wear a suit. My "smart casual" pants palette tends to be more browns and khakis and other earth tones rather than greys or blacks. I think the GxB would be terrific for more of an urban dweller or just someone who wears a lot more charcoal and black than I do. Especially shoes. I never wear black shoes unless I'm wearing a suit. Anyway, nice denim that GxB, but I wasn't too sad to see them go. The Raw Umbers share some of the stereotypical Italian characteristics with the GxB, so if you don't really fancy the latter I wouldn't recommend the former. But thanks for the compliments. Not every nice denim works for every guy's look. For my part, I seriously envy the dudes here who can rock the oxbloods. I think the color is beautiful and I want a pair, but I just can't do it.

I'm looking forward to my two LDs that are already on order, and they've been adding some awfully nice-looking fabrics lately. Don't pass on the G Taupes if they come around again or show up in Stock in your size, though. They are decidedly casual. I love 'em, and I'm 99% sure you would as well.

Even after three machine washes (I know but I am lazy), it still broke the "leather needle" of my tailor.

Decided to go with the Italy Sky's, as I was looking for a light pair for summer and the lighter shade makes a nice change. Also, the price was surprisingly low, at $80.

I'm going to hold out for hopefully another offering of the Summer Blues, but I love the look of the Skys. Also, I really like the lined dark oak trucker, but I'd prefer the lined fabric to be a different color, like a darker shade. The royal white plaid looks fantastic as well. Sick drops after drops though to start the new year.

Doesn't go well with a lot of outfits, but when I make it work, they look sick. Gustin White Oxford, black J Crew CPO, Gustin black roller belt, and Black Beckmans have been my goto style with the Ox2s.

Yeah, Oxblood is sick.... just don't have the confidence to rock them since I have less hair on the top (hint: look old) .... If one day I decide to shave all my hair off, maybe.

I had a really hard time wearing my Oxblood2's, they just felt so shiny and ruby colored. I soaked them, but they still felt shiny afterward. Eventually I broke down and dyed them to try and take the "edge" off. I first did a soak of dark brown, and diluted the dye to temper the effect. As the brown didn't darken the red at all I went for another soak with a combination of green+blue+black at a slightly stronger concentration. Now the jeans are a reddish-purple that I'm sure correlates to some varietal of wine. I love the results, however some of the seams were not fully saturated leaving a strong garment-dyed effect below the pockets and around some seams. While there are things I wish had gone better I'm still glad I went for the overdye. At least now I can wear the jeans and not feel like I'm weary metallic ruby pants.

I'm about those military slates, boss. If Gustin ships my 8 week delayed chinos so I can verify sizing then I'll back these. I need a few more chinos in dressy-ish colors.

The RRL is really brown x brown and the ID is brown/red. Based on your picture, the weft and the ID of the Taupe looks more white. Btw, I don't know the weight but the RRL is quite heavy. Even after three machine washes (I know but I am lazy), it still broke the "leather needle" of my tailor. Well, unless Ralph found some pocket bag material that is the exact same shade as the denim, I gotta think those RRL jeans have been overdyed. That doesn't look like a naturally brown weft material; you can see white on it (and the selvedge ticker) in places.

I am just not sold the shirts are worth 69-112.
Poplin plaids, oxfords, flannels, twills etc. Just really don't prove their worth so far. I do really like the chambray shirts. Hopefully the new buttons are awesome. Just can't justify them for the price. To me the shirts I have are 35-50$ shirts.

Here's the Italian Raw Umber campaign, if anyone was curious. I got QC's out of an XL slim Slate Blue Twill and just ordered the L Classic Slate Blue twill from the stock store, I'll let you guys know how it turns out. It should have the new buttons, which I've been trying unsuccessfully to get a shirt with for the last few months.

They almost look like they took a bunch of stone wash that RRL always has on clearance and overdyed them. Either way, though, they look great.
