Selvedge Chinos in Khaki and Olive. I'd love to get some selvedge twill chinos but they may be priced a little bit beyond the value I see in them. Also, new style wallet dropped this morning. Really digging the moss red flannel, though I'm a little worried about how "christmassy" it will look as a full shirt. Honestly, if it were in my size, I'd go for one. I love that material. Too Xmasy? Nope.

Honestly I would have met you to try on a Gustin item. But that's the type of guy I am.

My 2 cents (ps. love this thread-very amusing!! hope this is the right place for this post??). Not really, unless Lawless Denim was put up on the Gustin store today. I'm totally behind what Roman is doing, but this is to offer a less combative thread that's more focused on the New Releases from Gustin. There are plenty of threads that better fit your message, but as long as you don't start beating a drum with it here and drowning out the actual conversation, I don't see any reason for it to be removed or anything.

But this one is just fugly.... I think it has to be one of the worst ever.

Some may remember me as that weirdo who hasn't worn jeans since the 90's. But there are two things I am a fiend for: Chinos, and Trucker Jackets. I'm excited to see some of the Trucker Jackets come out of Lawless. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, though. I probably should have during that half off sale but I just need to see the fit/construction on people who have taken the photos themselves.
I should say though, as a Chino lover, Gustin has been doing pretty well lately. Efren. I will get you a discount if you are willing to give us a shot I appreciate that offer, thank you. But despite the fact that I am not a rich man, cost isn't a deciding factor for me in whether or not to try a new brand. Instead, I like to have a more panoramic sense of the brand and how it looks and fits on different people. After the first wave of stuff starts coming in, alongside people's selfies/photos, I'll be able to make a better judgement.

I'm a Bruin, not a Trojan. (In response to the Gustin shirt photo)

I'm a Bruin, not a Trojan. (In response to the Gustin shirt photo) Aw hell, then I DEFINITELY wouldn't let you try one of my shirts. That bright green/magenta thing is hideous, can't get down with it at all. If it was a legit cardinal and gold I'd think about it.

Probably worth mentioning that the coal chore coat is the famed ventile everyone is always on about.

I'm thinking of backing Super Heavy Slub. Has anybody received a previous run of Super Heavy Slub? Any reviews or comments?

I'm seriously tempted by the "high density" coal chore. Talk to me about ventile, people.

I'm seriously tempted by the "high density" coal chore. Talk to me about ventile, people. I got one in the first run and like it. I first used Ventile nearly 30 years ago for hillwalking and it was pretty awful in serious conditions, but this light version is fine for wind and light rain protection around town.
It's very light as a jacket and just feels good when worn. The only downside is it seems to get a bit shiny in areas that come into constant contact, like where my bag rubs against it. If you're tempted, I'd say go for it.
By contrast, I got the Army Herringbone recently and haven't worn it yet, as the colour just doesn't seem to work with anything but blue or black, whereas the dark grey/almost black Ventile goes with anything.

Someone accurately described them as looking like leopard spots here. I wore them pretty frequently last winter because of the weight, but beasts have relegated them to the back of the closet.

Agree that they're good for light weather, but Gustin's slimmer cut allows them to be layered underneath something heavier pretty comfortably. I like the material and water does, indeed, bead up on its surface. It does soak up water that sits there for a bit or any moderate amount of rain, though.

Thanks! I can't decide if the texture / spots look nice or odd... My primary motivation is the decent weight for the winter. I missed the run of 23 / 26 oz.

Yes i'm not convinced by the Super heavy Slub even if it sounds nice, because of the leopard spots look. If you like slubby denim check Oni, i have one and the slug effect is much more subtle but still visible !

Now... you say this.... I only got only one pair of jeans from Lawless during the 50% sales and I think the fabric I picked is the same as the Super Heavy Slub. The were only $40 but I should go for something else... never have a pair of jeans that have slub on them....

same. not sure i need another chore coat hanging next to my waxed charcoal one though. exact same boat. They definitely look different, and I'm intrigued by the fabric, so I'm definitely swinging back and forth on it. Mostly because the way I use the coat, the bigger pockets annoy me (want them at an angle) but it's handy to just be able to drop stuff in there and have a reasonable belief that it will remain in there for a while as long as I don't hang upside down. You can also see into them when stuff is in there, which is handy from a working on stuff perspective. Anyway, still thinking about it, think it'd be great over a heavy hoodie when it's colder, and really great when it's warmer, much more versatile than the waxed cotton, in any case (since the waxed can be worn between about 45 and 65 degrees), and the days in Colorado often have twice that delta in temperature.
