I do not understand how the blue checks will fade and thus bleed but not color the Orange in the washingmachine?

I'm wondering the same if it will look odd because of the fades in patches.

i like the theory, but a flannel will drape completely differently than a denim shirt will. it won't hold creases and is obviously a softer material overall. i imagine over time the primary fading will be at rub spots like the elbows, waist, and perhaps shoulders if you carry any sort of bag.

Well, I finally found something worthy of burning up my last bit of store credit with G. Hello, Japan Heather Greys! What's going on with the IxI workshirt there? The jeans look cool, but I already have the Okayama Grey x Grey which look very similar at a heavier weight. Even they feel its to long and have let it (or made it) curl up. Happened a bit with my Postal after a hot soak.

Yeah, people can see the same thing from my last fit picture of the HS Work Shirt. Tried to iron it flat but it is keeping curl up... not looking very good.

I really like the Japan Union Blue. Looks like a great summer pair. I might cop in a slim fit.

ickes, I agree. The colour looks really cool. The only thing holding me back is the weight... 13oz+ is my sweet spot.

Too similar to my left hand twill and blue silks. But I do like the color a lot.
$109 seems to be the new shirt price point?

$109 seems to be the new shirt price point? i'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. of the last 20 non-workshirts offered: 9: $79 or less 3: $89 or less 4: $99 or less 4: $109 or less 3 of the 4 over $100 were indigo dyed, which has tended to add to the price in each case. no idea why the new slub chambray is priced higher, but i don't know that it's definitive enough to say that $109 is the new price point

I didn't make a conclusion I was asking a question. The slub chambray is expensive especially when the 7.5oz brown one was $99 and heavier.

What on earth does dead stock denim mean? I know deadstock in expensive sneakerhead terms means brand new, but to the best of my knowledge, most denim is uhh... new... you know?

Deadstock, when it comes to denim, refers to a fabric the mill no longer produces. Whatever is out there is all that's left and, usually, will ever be.

It's the same as with trainers/sneakers. 'Deadstock' originally meant (and still does) that the shoe is no longer available at retail as all stock has been exhausted and there is no restocking is expected. The stock has come to an end, so you can't just go online or into a shop and pick the item up at retail price. As is the way with such things, it also tends to imply that you may well have to pay higher than retail in order to buy the item in future. As time's gone on it's become a bit confusing, as some use the term to also refer to an item as being brand new, unworn, in its original box/packaging (with all/any extras), in the same original state as from the manufacturer and hasn't touched the floor. And as time's gone on further - and with the 'help' of eBay - it's come to mean whatever the seller wants it to mean... But, when Gustin use it in this case it means the same thing: brand new denim, as delivered from the mill, which is the last available quantity of that particular denim. In essence, it really means that if you want to own those jeans in that fabric, your best bet is to buy them there and then because your only alternative, once this run is sold-out, will be chancing your arm on the second-hand/resale market (which could end up attracting a premium). It's a little bit of good old FUD.

OOP - out of print in gaming/movie terms of old. NOS - new old stock in stuff like pickups for turntables.

Anybody else cop the Japan Union Blues? I backed a pair and went slim with them. I really really like the shade of blue. Let's hope the pictures are an accurate depiction.

The pictures of Union blue look quite a bit shiny / glossy.

Those Mason fabrics are sweet, but I'm trying to imagine what my reaction would be if I opened by $150 flannel shirt (plus shipping), and the placket and yoke were crooked.

$25 less than Ratio, with a dick flap, uneven placket and a goofy third button on the collar? No thanks.

What's your beef on the third button? I've grown to like them. Just don't understand why it exists. I've had hundreds of collared shirts before and never had the back of the collar go walkabout on me. Of course I'd also prefer not to have the hanger loop too, but I know plenty like those. I'm only recently warming to the idea of button down collars anyway, since US made shirts seem to gravitate towards them. With G's questionable QC, wait time and current pricing, they've really run up against some formidable competiton with these shirts. But as stated, they're selling, so good for them.
