I have a few LVC items and its alot better than even the most expensive selvedge denim available on the Levis.com site. If you want a miner cut they have thelate 1800's to early 1900's cuts. They have lots of room in the top block and legs.

I thought that I had lucked out and found a pair like that last year at a swap meet. Turned out to be fakes, but it took me three months and a lot of research to realize they were. Damn good fakes too, but was happy I passed them up. I put them on the bottom of a large pile, and came back three months in a row to get details, while not letting on I had something going on. They didn't know they were fake, they just procure boxloads of jeans.

The patch looks like the modern paper patch. They didn't have leather back then? You wouldn't think "the rivet's still there" text would be on something in the 50's.

They even narrowed them down to the year they were produced www.rawrdenim.com/2014/11/original-vintage-levis-501-big-e-xx-sale-ebay/

The Rivet's still there is referring to a change to hidden rivets, could probably look into when that happened to figure out if the marketing lines up with the time these are claimed to have been purchased. However, no way I'm spending 5k on a pair of jeans so .... doesn't matter to me.

I will refer to the experts as I am sure they are correct. We could ask Mr. Randal. I would hope whoever buys these would put them on display or something.

As a lucky find I would wear the heck out of them but at $5k+ I would wear them to denim events like u do when you bring your car to a car show but none of thats happening so im left with my LVC foogazies

I was so bummed as the third trip I made I had the cash ready to go, but I did some last-minute sleuthing and discovered the button back numbers which told the real story. I almost cried. But yes, I was going to wear those bastards!

So if you're scavenging for vintage LEVIS, look for the painted back pockets. But beware - of course anything can and is copied these days...gotta do research, and sometimes, just take a chance.

They have an expensive "Levi's Vintage Collection" true raw "1955 Sawtooth" that's expensive. They also have a "raw wash" version that might not be true raw but is still nice and less expensive.

They had 2 versions. The other one looked raw aswell, but was a little light to my eye, but it had some smeared blue on the sizelabel so I assumed it was raw. This one was smooth.
I tried the neppy one and it was ok, I believe it was about $100 The neppiness really surprised me as I havent seen it on any pics.

x-post from waxed canvas jacket thread: new on the Levi's site. looks to be a cheaper alternative to the FilsonxLevi's waxed canvas trucker.

I kinda like the line 8 trucker in midnight rinse. It's pretty basic as far as jackets go but I'm ghey for blue and black hardware. It's only $84 and can probably be had for an additional discount

Levis has this shirt for kids here in the stores. Both my GF and me would instabuy it if it was made for adults. Anyone seen a grown-up one from Levis or a very alike one from someone else: (we both love the sawtooth and the snaps)
