How are you guys avoiding international transaction fees? Bank America wacks me with fees for the rakuten sales. $5 and 7.42$ so far.

If a vendor uses Paypal, say if my card was declined for security as happened with Fukuraku, you can change the Paypal charge to be in yen, so that I paid my pure rate and not the loaded Paypal one.

Saving money is my first name. I use a straight credit Visa card not Paypal at all. They originally told me my card was declined then told me it was a mistake and it was all set. Maybe I should use Paypal from now on and avoid that fee.

I just got 2 IH shirts for the price of 1 here in the US. They can have their 7 bucks.

Get a card with no international fees.. there are a few good ones out there (I use Chase Sapphire Preferred).

Marauder - I hope you're right. It seems to be hit and miss with them. The damn things have been in customs for a day already though.

Anyone know the difference in fabric between the Sugar Cane 1947's and the Okinawa's?
Thanks.

Yeah, I noticed that, but I was also operating under the assumption (perhaps wrongly so) that all Sugar Cane denim had that 50/50 blend. I believe the old Self Edge site had a more detailed description of the denim itself. I have read about and seen the other differences--pocket bags, patches, rear pocket stitching, etc.

And the savings go on...
Just ordered the IHV-09 vest from Rodeo Bros. They don't have it in stock but can get it Monday for me.
I also asked for the IH 21oz black vest, but that's not in stock until May.

Does anyone know how the rakuten vendors do the one wash? Are they soaked and hang dried or done in a machine for washing and drying?

jray, I've read that "one wash" just means sanforized.

jray, I've read that "one wash" just means sanforized. "One wash" means unsanforized denim that has been washed, which is different from sanforized denim. I don't have insight generally as to how it's done. But I have a pair of Eternal 883s and I know in that case Eternal does a hang dry. Apparently to retain as much of the loomstate character of the denim as possible.

Rumiko from Rodeo Bros has been very helpful to me, so I was unable to resist getting the IHSH-62 in black Wabash as a special order. If they don't have something in stock, they'll do their best to get it in for you.
