Someday I will make my little one be a cowgirl....until then I’m left making a lot of this: r This is the third dress I’ve made for her (along with a superhero and a few different creatures).

Nice.
My grandma used to make costumes, then they would rotate throughout various homes. I remember being super excited one year when it was finally my turn to wear the "Bear" costume.
A couple years back I took the kid to a kids party at the orchestra where they also had a costume contest. He could not understand why he did not win. I was left trying to explain to a 4 year old that only home made costumes were unique enough to win contests.
Enjoy!

I fixed the elastic on my leather plague doctor mask and went to the local mall. I wear drywall stilts with forearm crutches to creep around at about seven and a half feet. I sewed up a tall yukata to complete the look. Too bad the typhoon ruined halloween weekend and I was one of only a few people dressed up. It is fun to see the reactions of people when they see this giant squeaky monster walk past them in the grocery store. For an instant, you can see something magical in their eyes as reality bends a little when they suddenly think that monsters are real...if only for an instant. After that, I threw on a dress and wig because a friend has a bar that was supposed to be open typhoon or not. He lied. So I went from fun halloween guy to just some bearded tranny with a hello kitty purse walking through the bar district real fast. I also see that I made my profile picture my costume. Well, there it is. I did make a newer yukata last year with better fabric...but pictures are hard to come by since I can't do anything in this costume and most people over the age of 12 are too cool to dress up and be silly. They just want to dress up and get wasted. (super edit, I am not in the army, but I somehow ended up on their dragonboat team)
