I picked up a Madras shirt from these guys, in the spitfire plaid. Authentic madras, very nice colors, and will fade like Madras should. I'm very short of lightweight Summer shirts, so though this a good place to start the collection. Very good customer service, as I was concerned with the generic size guide, for all their shirts, but when I called, they transferred me to their new store in Austin, where the person measured out one for me. I had to go a size up from the onsite guide. Seems the majority of stuff is made in Portugal, but they do have a few items made in the US for Bentin. I normally would avoid India, but figured that is the birthplace of the authentic cloth, so figured I'd give it a try. www.guideboat.com/men-s/tops/men-s-shirts/men-s-indigo-bleeder-madras-shirts-11.html

I got this catalog, and did think these were good looking. davelewis , when you get, post how it is. I randomly started getting this catalog too. Some of their stuff looks pretty good. Much of what they sell is either MiUSA or MiEU, which is nice to see from a "catalog" company. Like you davelewis, I would usually steer clear of made in India, but since this is where these shirts originated from, I'd go for it too. The indigo is a nice touch and should look even better after a few years. I have a madras shirt from Ratio that I quite like, fabric from India, MiUSA, no indigo though.

ohh interesting, they got a store in SF so I can go visit and try on in person. I don't own any lightweight shirt minus 2 linen blend chambrays so I could venture out as well.

I got this catalog, and did think these were good looking. davelewis , when you get, post how it is. I like the color of the spitfire plaid, as the picture on the website is accurate. Appears to be well made, with stitching intact, and patterns lined up. Perfect length for wearing untucked, and has side gussets. Nice and lightweight for the hotter days. Again I'd recommend checking with the store to confirm garment measurements.
