Funny how the honey chore jumped! ..I bet HA funds before new drops, too. Italian IXI's would make it a bit too obvious..

Funny how the honey chore jumped! 22%-48% on a slow Monday. And still 2 days remaining to back...just like yesterday. I figured it out...Gustin owns a time machine!!! They are secretly funding the hoverboard kickstarter too! (see David's post in the general forum for that joke reference...I don't feel like linking to it).

Guess I was wrong.. good news for those waiting for a reappearance of the Postal HB WS, though.. if the pants don't move, they'll probably throw up the extra fabric as a WS. This gives Lawless about a week or so to put up their competing Postal HB

Nothing should really be funding prior on Tues/Thurs prior to drops.. most people would hold out to see what comes up. Then again, you can always cancel your pledge.

wisdom - I haven't backed the chore coat, merely being a conspiracy theorist I find it curious that they manipulate the numbers - as Ickes and others mentioned - it's a smart strategy to drive the sense of urgency and demand, I just wish they'd be more subtle about it. I've been on hiatus with Gustin backings - I'm awaiting the rocket plaid flannel and playing the wait and see game with the new size offerings and how they are produced and meet up with the specifications.

Bloomies jumped about 40% in less than two days after being stuck in the 50's for a few days. Successfully funded before today's drops. I wonder what they'll do with the leftover fabric.

I have seen them extend the funding days remaining and I have seen them push through to "close/funded" status items that were flat-lined in terms of progress. I don't have a problem with it. It gets the people what they want. They probably also make room for more orders mid-campaign by slowing the appearance of funding progress to make room for more orders. It is a smart system that is adaptable to different funding scenarios without tipping their hand to us.

I feel they alter funding to create demand. Plus by funding 99% of offerings it looks better for them. The whole funding thing is kinda a gimmick.

I don't know that there's anything unscrupulous about that, though. (Nor do I think you were implying that there is.) I guess the bottom line for us as customers is this. Gustin puts a product out there and slaps a price on it. Either we think it's worth it to buy that product at that price, or we don't. The rest is just window dressing.

Look over at the reddit wallets they are tanking? hope some of this lot change magic can help! I wonder what the implications of this will be.. do you think the reddit community or Gustin will do any sort of postmortem on these products after they fail funding? Can Gustin realistically help these products along without raising suspicions about how the percentages are adjusted or what true metrics actually define thresholds for funding success that we do not see? This brings about an interesting calculus.. at least for the simple wallet, I'd guess the profit/loss breakeven point has passed. If funding fails, redditors hoping to get the wallet may lose a bit of faith in the Gustin model and feel that a crowdsourced and crowdfunded product worthy of funding success has failed. This may stir discussion about pricing, marketing, preparation, etc. that I would guess would skew toward the negative for Gustin. Also, those who were skeptical about Gustin's model and the product will have ammunition to support their skepticism. ..if funding miraculously succeeds, however, you can bet conspiracy theories will fly around and could possibly create the impression that Gustin is disingenuous, at best, and deceptive, at worst, with its marketing and sales.

I don't think enough people actually know about the wallet or wallet launch to cause a significant rift one way or the other. If it fails, it's actually a bit of a crowdfund success, as the collaboration logo wasn't very well received and some thought it was poorly chosen/communicated. If the community doesn't like something, it doesn't get funded... and the company moves on... isn't that the purpose of crowdsourced projects?

All I can really say is that if they would have done something like this with the community page three months ago I would have been surprised if it made it to a second day.

The bi-fold didn't make it. They extended the card holder 3 days it's at 73% now Question is, are they lowering the funding threshold, or are they expecting 33+% more people to back in three days? It'll make it, for sure..
