A lot of Adidas and a few Puma are still made in Germany, if you're okay not looking too far back. And since you mentioned MiJ, I'll just assume that will work. I was going to reply to this thread yesterday WRT German Adidas, but I found out that the German Adidas are made by robots. I have a pair of maroon MiG Hamburg that i got from End a couple years ago, and I'm now not happy if this is the case.

Funny, when I worked in Germany for Lufthansa, robots did most of the work and union employees did mindless jobs like checking glasses washed by robots for water spots and two ladies who manually filled first class salt and pepper shakers, one was the salt lady, the other was pfeffer. They do love their robots over there.

I purchased these last night: baabuk.us/collections/urban-wooler-sneaker/products/urban-wooler-light-grey-orangeSlightly different look than New Balance, but I like them. I've never tried wool shoes, but the wool socks and underwear I have are impervious to stink, so I'm hoping these will be OK to wear without socks as advertised. They're made in Portugal (sorry bentin ) with wool from ethically raised sheep by a small, Swiss-based company. We'll see how it goes. There is a similar brand called Allbirds that also makes wool shoes. I don't like the profile quite as much, but they are a certified B corporation, also EU based company and manufacturing. I'll let you know what I think when I get them in a few days.

It's funny you say that. I have a Schott wool coat that is almost the exact same color and texture as these shoes.

I received the Baabuk's last week. Pretty cool shoes. Really comfy. I wore them yesterday. It was a high of 60 or so here and I wore them without socks. My toes were a little chilly. Style-wise they seem pretty versatile. I felt they were appropriate with chinos yesterday at the office, but I could definitely picture myself wearing them with shorts and a T shirt in the summer. The construction doesn't seem as robust as New Balance, but that could just be because they are so lightweight. All in all, I would have preferred a non-conflicted pair of NB, but this seems like an OK substitute.

interesting, how did you size in it? Removable insoles? Does it wear like a slip-on since its a single lace bungy system?

interesting, how did you size in it? Removable insoles? Does it wear like a slip-on since its a single lace bungy system? I wear a US size 13 in just about everything. I got a 47 which corresponds to a US 13 on their sizing chart and they fit perfectly. I didn't check to see if the insoles were removable, but they are lined with the same wool as the upper, so I would imagine they are not removable. The laces came to me as pictured on the website and I kept them that way. I think you could lace them normally if you wanted, but you might not be able to lace through all the eyelets. You slide your foot in, yes, but I think it seems more secure than your average slip on. I wouldn't want to run any distance in these, but I think you could run without feeling like they would fly off.

I caved and bought another pair of NB. Their build quality is so much better than other sneakers.

I like to collect good shoes and especially sneakers because this is my everyday style. Of course, I also have such like this one. But now my new passion became Areni 1 areni1.store/product/premier-high-top-black/ and I really like them. The style is unusual, I am able to wear with jeans and pants. Look stylish !
