I really like my Knickerbocker hats and Ideal caps look great too! By chance do you have one of each and can you provide a comparison?

Leather sweat band and an unstructured crown are big selling points for me. How about that thin wool? Thinner than a New Era 5950? Might just have to take the plunge regardless.

I have the Seattle Rainiers hat from Ideal Cap Co. I do like it a lot. Comparatively, I have that plus 3 others from Ebbets and a 5950. I'd have to say the wool isn't quite as thin as my 5950 Boston Braves hat. It's more in-line with the Ebbets. All of my Ebbets are the 6 panel structured crown options (more recent throwbacks). The leather sweatband is a nice touch, but it's more of a detriment in the desert. It's great for cooler weather here.

How about that thin wool? It's 12oz and feels about perfect. I guess I just wasn't sure what to expect because I haven't worn any other ball caps in about 10 years. The only other hat I've worn recently is made from a heavy tweed that would be thick for a jacket.
