I strategically limit my requests to smaller quality goods from my girlfriend or family. I do to keep costs limited. But with sizing and the uniqueness of brands and my own preferences, I tend to keep most larger items for me once I'm done gifting. Just picked up the RgT x BO Expedition 2. Technically I Christmas gift but I'm on wear #2 today. Also grabbed the TS Merino henley (one of the last Cali-made offerings). Sadly, my gf still focuses on how something looks on her (not complaining) over where its made...which often times results in seeing gift shipping confirmations from China. Happy Holidays!

What do you think of the Marino Henley? Is it on the thin side? I'm like something a bit medium weight

Fit is trim and the hidden back pocket isn't bulky or annoying (yet). Just to clarify, I'd call the Merino henley a winner. The Marino henley never did manage to win the big game.

Merry Christmas to you and your families!
No raw denim for me this Christmas. I got a drawer full of jeans with little to no wear and I need to fade those pairs first before I spend any money on new stuff

Wishing everyone a safe, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
As far as clothing goes, I have my wife buy hers, and I buy mine. Wouldn't want it any other way. For the guy that has everything(me), I have a custom straight razor currently in transport from Brian Brown, who makes his own in good ole Tennessee.

My mom still likes to have something under the tree for me when we come spend Christmas with my parents. This year I was able to get a pair of RW Chukkas for a steal during black Friday. I split the cost of them with her and let her wrap those up. I don't mind knowing what's in the box, especially when it's a new pair of Red Wings.

Ive got a new appreciation for Chukkas since my boys got their Aldens. A very versatile boot. I just don't want to spend the $ on Aldens so I've been eyeing those RW's

I certainly will. I spent about a week wearing them at home, inside, to make sure I had the right fit. So I've been itching to get them back for a full day's wear.

I put white chalk in my beard, threw on the old santa suit, and ran around Kobe, Japan with Rudolph-chan telling the locals to be good and eat their vegetables. My santa this year was always telling everyone to eat their vegetables. It is a new act every year. However, this beard is too much. I get food in it all the time. I call it the "beard tax"...it takes 10% of everything I eat.

It was the most ridiculous "slow" week at work where everything went wrong. While I am winding down, I figured it should be short story time. Every year since 2011, I have been printing christmas cards (skipping 2013 due to my move to Japan). At 2014, they reached a pattern where there are always two cards. One says "It's beginning to look a lot like christmas" and the other (my favorite of the two) says, "Joyful and Triumphant." After arriving in Japan, I buy stamps every year with the animal of the year on it. I did around 80 or so cards this year. It takes a long time to photograph, edit, print, hand stamp all of the envelopes, hand address each one, mail and/or hand deliver...but it is a fun project that I look forward to every holiday season. 2018 will be year of the dog. I like the aesthetics of laundromats and this little brightly lit bastard always catches my eye when I drive by at night...I have wanted to take photos here for years...and this was my chance. Then I had the local okinawans asking why my christmas card was at a laundromat (they are used to the lion mask by now). There is no explanation other than I thought it was a good idea. The santa hat is a little harder to see and that is usually the indicator of "christmas" so that didn't help my cause, but I also like how subtle it is. I hope your new year is full of fades or something.
