What do you bearded fellas use to keep the ole crumb catcher managable? I've been growing my facial hair out, such as it is, for the last month. I look and feel like a bum and was debating whether or not I should let it grow some more or keep it trimmed. I'm starting to reach my patchy Dave Grohl look, or perhaps the 7th member of The Village People

Both a full size , corded Wahl trimmer and a beard sized lithium ion Wahl. But honestly, mostly just scissors to trim my neck line and rogue hairs. Scissors, a Swissco comb and beard oil are good for all but a good overall shortening.

I hit the barber shop twice a week and just comb my beard everyday and use beard oil. Also wash and condition it at least once a week.

i did the James Harden Beard last year and just always ended up with food in there. Got too itchy and i just looked like a bum, some people can pull it off though.
I just trimmed with the wahl peanut a couple of times but in retrospect scissors prolly would have been better.

Scissors for the win. You'll be better at it the longer you do it obviously. Get a good neck and cheek line defined and it will really define and clean up the look of it all.

I've found that when the beard starts to lengthen, you pretty much have to trim with scissors if needed, because the guide on the old clippers is useless. I'm at the stage this Winter now with the Duck Dynasty length, give or take. I'll have to decide this Spring if it gets mowed, or to let it ride. It could be difficult during Summer heat. Another consideration is when the beard gets long, and you ride motorcycles, you have to tie it up, or it can obscure you vision. Life certainly has its dilemmas.

For Beard trimmers I have A good pair of barbers scissors for day to day trimming . I Have a used a Wahl trimmer if I get lazy and don't trim the beard for a couple weeks. I have used the Whal trimmer for years, but just last moth the motor gave up the ghost. So I purchased a Philips Norelco One-Blade trimmer and Love it! It has a lithium ion battery. As far as beard oil. It truly does help the condition of your beard And it makes your beard sell great!. I bought a few different brands of the oils. But I now make my own. It is much more economical that way. Beard oils can get expensive. I just read the ingredients on a couple of the bottles and made up my own blend. Here a couple links to the beard oils I have purchased in the past. link and link
I hope my post helps gaseousclay.

Who makes a good beard oil? Honest Amish. Their balms are better than an oil.

I ended up buying a 1oz bottle of bay rum beard oil from Grave Before Shave. It cost $12. I figured if I don't like it it's not a terrible investment. I'm gonna look at beard trimmers soon when I have more time

I remember My Grandfather used to wear Bay-Rum scented aftershave. It really has a memorable scent.

I recommend all products from Whiskey Ink & Lace. You can find them online and on Etsy. I've been using their stuff for a couple years now with a 6+" beard. Their sets come with shampoo bar, oil, balm, and mustache wax.
Honest Amish makes good stuff too. The heavy duty beard balm is my favorite and helps control and shape the beard. It's not that heavy or greasy so don't let it scare you.
