Look at the boot thread in footwear. Depends on how much you want to spend but I went from timberland boot company to red wings to wolverines to rag n bones to my current Truman boots.
I had Clarks in the past but did not find them comfortable for my feet.
Redwings and thorogood are decent made in USA if you care for that under 200 depending on models.

I've owned 9 pairs of boots in the last few years. Two Danner, Wolverine, Chippewa, Merrell, Stacy Adams chukka, Whites, Red Wing, and a pair I made myself. My Iron Rangers are my favorite and most comfortable boot. They can be had for about 219 on Amazon when they have sales. I threw a small 3/4 arch support in them. I went down half a size from my brannock and they are near perfect. I have wide ass feet with bunions, high arches, and a lot of volume. Hope that helps.

I'll check out rag n bones. I took a look at red wings, but nothing caught my attention.

Boots are one of those areas that if you live in the US, you might as well buy some American made boots. Plus all of these are either Goodyear or Blake welted and easily resoleable.
$200ish range on sale Redwing Heritage Wolverine 1k Mile
$300ish Rancourt Eastland made in Maine (really just Rancourt) Thorogood Danner
$400-$500 Truman Nicks Whites Oak Street Alden
I'm sure I left a few good choices out, but those are all US made, quality boots.

The Danner outlet store by me has INSANE deals. I've never paid more than $170 for any Danners. If anyone ever needs a specific pair I can check.

Sorry, Photobucket isn't working for me right now and Amazon is making direct links tricky. So here's a stock photo. Just imagine a lot of indigo crock on the upper half. With Redwings and Wolverines, I just stick them on my Amazon wishlist and check the prices daily until they hit a decently low price. I think I got the above RW's for $160.

also could do seconds route via Sierra Trading Post...if you can stack the 20-25% coupon with free shipping + cash back sites= slick deal
Most reports say seconds can be hard to notice to large scratches haha.

I've got dozens of things being tracked. Picked up a pair of Chippewa General Service boots this summer on a real deep discount using it.

I've got a pair of the Black Cherries They run big so size down. For me they were a bear to break in. Took a good 3 months of wear. I wouldn't say they make the most comfortable boot (nothing beats a pair of Doc's for comfort) but they are very versatile. They dress up nicely. How will you be using them?
