Pizza and IPA are a lot cheaper than new clothes. You can fix this! Yes, you just won the thread. :-)

I have basically everything I need at this point clothing wise. That's the good thing about buying quality clothes though is that they will last a long time. Don't have to buy new jeans to replace crappy ones that wear out after a year. Only thing I need is some new leather gloves because I lost mine. I hate when that happens. Now of course I keep searching for ultimate leather gloves at a good price.

Agreed. This is one of my favorite places on the internet, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to talk about clothes with little-to-no want/need to buy anything. BTW glad to see you around and posting again Winterland

I was looking for some gloves last year for motorcycle riding, and when all was said and done, I bought a pair from Geier. There actually made not too far from me in Chehalis, WA, and have been around for a long time. I picked up a pair of their deerskin ropers, and they are excellent, and head and shoulders above anything I saw in a store. I remember paying something around $50 bucks for my pair. geierglove.com/products.html

Even with all the sales that have been going on I haven't seen anything worth buying. Is this what happens when you pretty much have everything you need, or is it just boredom?

Even with all the sales that have been going on I haven't seen anything worth buying. Is this what happens when you pretty much have everything you need, or is it just boredom? For me, it's realizing that I have clothes that I never even wear. I literally have pants and shirts that I've spent what most would consider a ridiculous amount of money on that I've worn just a few times. Also, on another note, I never realized how many mass-marketing e-mails I get. When you're conscious about not buying, you realize the efforts these companies go to to make you feel like you're missing out if you don't have the latest and the greatest. We're all targets in the game of internet buying.

We're all targets in the game of internet buying. I've been trying to regularly wear what I have, aside from the piles of new/unworn denim in my closet. I know i've unsubscribed from several mailing lists mainly because I was getting spammed frequently. I'm still tempted to buy stuff but it's not as bad as before.

When you're conscious about not buying, you realize the efforts these companies go to to make you feel like you're missing out if you don't have the latest and the greatest. We're all targets in the game of internet buying. I go in phases where I actually unsubscribe from a lot of the emails. With all these damn emails (stupid TS 20% discount), I try to direct all of the mass-marketing emails to one specific inbox. From there, I begin to scale back the emails. It certainly has helped the temptation. My challenge is that I can easily forgo buying new clothes, but I typically offset that with another strategic expense. For me, 2016 has been about a new mountain bike build and a few furniture upgrades at home. My new focus is a potential move later this year. I'm going to try and limit my spend beginning next month (famous last words).

If it's not clothes then I start looking at watches again. If it's not watches then I'll start looking into new gadgets and accessories. None that I truly need. I used to spend a lot of money and time on expensive booze but I don't drink much anymore these days.
I've got a few things on my clothing list that I want to buy this year. Mainly just some staple pieces, but high quality. Aside from that I think 2017 may have less spending on this stuff. But I say that now...

So far, I'm doing good... I needed some fingerless gloves for working outdoors, so I bought Filson... Kinda cheating, kinda not. I mean, there was a legitimate need, I just catered the purchase to my style preference while I was at it.

I'm going to Asheville this weekend and plan to stop into Old North while I'm there. I don't "need" anything, but there aren't many stores that cater to this style in my city so i'll make it a point to support local and find something.
