Today I wore my favorite pair, the Gustin Okayama Standards. Love them! Faded, Fully Broken in, interesting sheen, etc. tonight I'm wearing my Japan17's with only a dozen+ wears and I'm so tired of Breaking in denims! I'm starting to wear 3 (maybe 4) pairs. And most likly could narrow that down to 2.
Now that it's been 3,4+ years and for some a dozen or more pairs that have been bought. What's the one pair you would replace?

right now it's probably two pairs, my Iron Heart 777 14oz Indigo and my Rogue Territory 14.5 oz Stanton Indigo. It's RgT's flagship denim and I really believe it's underrated or at least not talked about much on the interwebs. Great pair of jeans and the Stanton fit is the best fit I have found for my body to date.

It doesn't turn that muddled navy of all the other cone indigo which reminds me of KMart in the early 90s. To be honest, though, I'd replace none because I easily have three other pairs waiting to replace nearly any pair of gustin jeans in my closet. I don't even have the time to break these things in anymore. Just to give another fit a shot, though, I'd look for another brand using the cone orange id.

Great thread, DigDug Although, I can't pick only one. Living in Wisconsin, I've got to have a lighter weight denim for summer, and a heavyweight for the rest. My 2 are easy choices. My PBJ 1133 were perfect, this summer. I wore them 5-6 days a week. I would not think twice about replacing them, if needed. The rest of the year, my IH-666S-19L are indispensable. Hefty, rugged, and downright durable. Add to that, a darker indigo warp, and a somewhat dirty weft. They are really starting to show a nice high contrast fade. If I had no others, I'd have no issue wearing them every day. Honestly, I don't foresee them giving out anytime soon. So, it may be awhile before I actually do have to replace them.

RgT 11oz, just because they're so versatile and they're an interesting fade. When I replace them, I'll switch from Stanton's to SK'S, but the Stanton's with a stronger taper would probably work okay too.
Both Gustin fits piss me off, so while my Okis are well faded, I'm kinda done with them. Time for more Oni or to give some The Strike Golds a shot.

I was thinking of trying a pair of those for next summer.

Wow. This is like picking a favorite child. Based on wear, I think I'd definitely repurchase the Brave Star Cramerton twill. Really versatile for work/off hours. As for denim and fades, I'd agree with exophobe on the Sixteener. As annoying as it is for some, the G slim fit works for me. A close runner-up might be the Italian BlackxBlack. A year of wear and there is a ton of character developing (still black however).

Sadly, you can never go back. The new pair will never be the old pair.

Mine are super soft, and have a little wear on the fly, pocket edges and maybe a little ghosting around the knees, but certainly no whiskers or honeycombs. They are on the "screw your whole country for this" list and would not be on my replace list. In fact I keep coming up with complicated plans for their demise. If G would ever drop the black loomies again, I'd be all over them.

I need to remember to take pics of these when I'm wearing them. I'll set a reminder in my phone to see if I can try and capture the "character" of blackxblack jeans that defy the logic of fading. I'm guessing I will have hints of grey in about 5 years. My Soso blackxblack appear to have more potential for fades, but I only say that because they aren't Italian.
Black loomies would be pretty sweet.

They are a good looking pair of black jeans.

My XX-013 and my 555-03 are my keepers. The pair that I'm ready to dump? My 666-XHS. They are soon to be replaced by a pair of 1955's

I only wear 2 pairs with any frequency and those are my Leon Denim and N&F LHT's. I'll occasionally wear my G American Standards but those have mostly been banished to the closet. Don't really wear my Strike Golds (too odd of a fit but great slubby denim) and I have 3 unworn pairs of Gustin and 2 unworn pairs of 3sixteen. I like my Leon Denim a lot but they're really stubborn faders, even more so than my LHT's. I honestly can't say which pair i'd replace.

That's a pretty damn straight leg old school fit isnt it??? Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just thought you were a slim fit guy.

They'll be sitting in your closet black as the day they were born until your closet is no longer yours.

About as much fade as my Ciano's threw off just putting them on.

Mine are back at Ciano to get the buttonfly redone, looking forward to getting them back. I sized mine an inch under my actual waist, hoping the repairs don't cause too much pain this go around. The first pass they stretched really easily, but of course they also blew out every button hole.

The original gustin loomstates slim - by far. The fit just endeded up to be so perfect for me, unfortunately I had to trainjump the last campain due to short funds. I want pbj in this fit and thats why they arent on the list, the fabric is good but fit is way too wide hems.
Nr 2 is the IH 624s (is that the name or is it 625s?) the color and how it fades is just a work of art.

Kinda hoping the 55s would be a good alternative but the thighs and hem may be a bit bigger If Ih would make a long rise 634 I'd buy 3 pairs and be set for life

So it would seem Fit trumps designer, denim, cost.
