I'm curious to see what you think of that shirt. I had that thing in my cart about five different times at R and H but never pulled the trigger. I know highlights owns several Indigofera pieces.

Yep, I have 5 indigofera shirts & I love each one. Great fabrics, design & construction...That's a nice lookin' shirt & I'll also be interested to read your thoughts northcoast.

Well it's due to arrive tomorrow so I'll let you know something tomorrow evening. The thing is I have a hard time getting the correct fit and the Dawson measures right into my specs. The Dollard is a little too small for me to fit into.

Got the Dawson today. Intial impressions.
Texture is sortof burlapy but not rough. The thin courdoury used to line the cuffs and collar is very soft. The cut is slightly boxy and the arms high but slightly wider at the pits for ease of movement. The pictures make this look yellow but it's a trick of the light as IRL the threads are black, white, and brown. I think this will go best with black.
I think I'm going to keep it and look forward to getting it rinsed and see how it settles in.
Also, I think Ickles would not be happy with the fabric weight, but the pattern on the fabric and the construction and sewing are very nice.
Feels like a very comfortable wearing shirt, just not *exactly* in the slim cut mold and not too wide, but possibly makes a silhouette slightly off when paired with tapered jeans vs. straight?

I ended up doing a rinse only cycle warm/cold, 17 minutes, in my front loader. This took some of the dye out and tightened up the weave a little bit removing some of the scratchiness.
Wore it yesterday and the final result is a really nice wearing and good fitting shirt. This is a great compromise between fit and usability in that there are high armholes but the shirt is wide enough that you can move in it.
I will likely buy again, wish the other EU colors had come over here.

Recently came across their Fargo shirt in Red Denim... really stunning IMO. Sold out in most sizes nearly everywhere though. Really wish I could see the color in real life. Burg & Schild has it here

Their prices include VAT. Indeed. That's why I wondered if they subtracted it because it was shipping to the US. If you look at Burg&Schild, they say they will take out the 19% German VAT, but add a 2% charge to take care of the paperwork required, but I would ask for it myself, because I'll take a 17% discount any day of the week. I've bought stuff from Pike Brothers in Germany, and they take out the VAT automatically. It also sounds like there is a possibility of the US starting some form of VAT tax here in the future, as the politicians wrangle with taxing issues. Oh boy!

So are the IH products marked up higher then at B and S to account for that? Or can we actually buy IH gear cheaper at B and S?

So are the IH products marked up higher then at B and S to account for that? Or can we actually buy IH gear cheaper at B and S? That is affirmative. B and S prices their IH gear in Euros, which reflect the Dollar price for what you'd pay from IHUK, Selfedge, etc. BUT, they have the same policy as Denimheads, which lets you buy VAT free if you let them know in advance when you place your order. It ends up being a 17% discount. Better than a poke in the eye.

$368 ?? They'd have to pay me at least that much to even try that hideous thing on.

And that eagle is I think this singers symbol, and I have no idea what his music is like. I think the logo on the back makes it something a grown-up should not wear in public. Symmetric embroideries on the chest would be acceptable, but this is for kids...in my opinion. The rest of it looks ok and the hand pockets are a nice touch. Like a light western shirt-jacket. But that logo just makes it juvenile. Oh, I know I have questionable taste and some of my apparel is "childish" at best, but you asked about this and I vote "don't do it, man!"

The shirt itself I really like a lot. Even the two-tone denim. The only thing that puts me off is the eagle embroidery. I don't hate the embroidery per se, I just think it would look better if it was chainstitched or some other type of vintage embroidery (think souvenir jacket style). Here's a good example of chainstitching

Here's a good example of chainstitching on the other hand, I think a grown-up can wear this shirt with foxes and a guitar, but it only works in specific places and with a corresponding series of jeans/boots etc. But that is just my opinion. I own ( and really like) that shirt, but have yet to find the right time to wear it. It is weird how that eagle just doesn't sit right. There is always a fine line that we all have to define ourselves.

I was REX I know what you mean. I really like embroidered western shirts (or western wear in general), but this style is hard to pull off. There's really only two ways to wear them: you'd have tone-down everything else you're wearing or go full "Electric Horseman"

Thanks guys.
I think I am really drawn to the two tone.
I'm not ready to join a rock band, and trying to pull that off around here would be......difficult.
(goes back to working on custom boot order.......)
