I'm not exactly sure..... But generally, religion, politics and gun laws are off limits, lol! Those things tend to take forums to a dark place Understood. My lips are zipped. The DM offer stands.

I'd seen that in a WAYWT thread and just assumed it was a ZT. Looks nice.

I'd seen that in a WAYWT thread and just assumed it was a ZT. Looks nice. Thanks. It's bigger than I prefer, but it gets plenty of pocket time, because it is just bad ass to ogle, play with, and use (in that order)... Marifone does a similar model but with a bamboo motif that is drool worthy...

any recommendations on a fixed blade knife? Keep in mind, I know nothing about knives so would appreciate some feedback.
Which brands should i look at and which should I avoid? I think i'd like a blade I can keep in a sheath versus one that I would carry in my front pocket. No reason really just my preference.

So many different directions to send you, just need a bit more info; what do you plan to use the knife for? I'm assuming general EDC use...wood or synthetic handles? Leather or synthetic sheath? That'd be a good start for recommendations.

I just want something that is decent quality

I just want something that is decent quality I have a Jeff White Bush One I've really enjoyed on camping trips. High carbon steel, full tang, curly maple handles, and a leather sheath. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it for EDC but Jeff has a whole line of knives and you should be able to find something in the $50-$75 range to suit your needs. In hand you'll notice a lack of finish, but it's tough as nails and has a great warranty. For a little knife porn, checkout Fiddleback Forge. Beautiful knives but I'd never be able to really thump on the $400 one I really want. Fun to look at though!

If you don't mind carrying something on your belt, I can't recommend the Helle Dokka I posted in the first post highly enough. Awesome knife, I just only carry it on camping or climbing trips. It's a little much for the office. It's substantial enough open that it's easy to forget it's a folder.

Check your local laws. www.knifeup.com/knife-laws/WA state restricts fixed blades much more severely than folders and makes carrying them impractical outside work/camping/game situations. Either way, if you go fixed or folder--try both cheaply at first--think SMALL and LIGHT; many and I myself, prefer sub 3" and don't enjoy/carrying above 3.5" or 4.5oz--typically.
