Seems we're derailing the WAYWT thread with knife talk. I carry a Kershaw Scallion most days and a Helle Dokka for camping, climbing and bad wood massacring. Would love something a little more boutique, but haven't found the right thing yet. Whatcha got?

I used to carry a couple different knives just depending on what i felt like grabbing. But these days I carry a SAK Alox Cadet. It just fits better in the pocket and is all I've really needed. If i need something larger it's in my desk or in my truck.

Depending on the day, mood and situation I carry either some type of small fixed blade or a folder.
This past week I have been using a benchmade 531 and carrying my new reylights pineapple flashlight in brass.
I was carrying my Swiss army last week.
I usually like small folders with a blade under 3".

Own a bunch of knives, most of them Spyderco but still keep a SAK Alox Cadet on my keychain. Occasionally carry an Opinel too when I'm feeling more traditional. Highly recommend all three brands, great values at their respective price tags.
Edit: for backpacking I can't speak too highly of Mora knives. Great durability, takes a razor edge, and inexpensive too. I've beat the hell out of mine and don't never stress about it breaking. More expensive knives are nicer, but it's mentally tougher to abuse a $300 knife than it is a ~$20 one.

I carry a blade with a Marlin Spike. I find I use the spike more often. Not that I'm a sailor (who it is originally for).

I work at a desk in an office. It seems as though many of the rest of you do too. If you work in an office, how is your pocketknife used?
FWIW, I carry a wallet, phone and keys with a bottle opener on it. The bottle opener has seen heavy use in the past week.

I like the feel of it in the pocket, and think I may be able to use it for self defense, but probably not. I stopped my knife fetish at 4 pieces, 1 of them I should probably sell and there are a couple more I would not mind having.

I work in a lab so I cut open anything with a knife from boxes, papers, tape, flexible tubing, rubber etc. If it can be cut with my knife, I do it. If not I find something that can haha. Even when I sit at my desk, I play with my knife and flick it open secretly.

Smaller version of the paramilitary2 (pm3) was announced by Spyderco. Haven't seen any specs yet, but it should be cool

My time in the Army definintely learned me to appreciate nice pokey-stabbies, but overseas (First Japan, and now The UK) they frown upon people that carry weapons of any sort, meaning YOU GO TO JAIL.

NOPE!
Unless it is being directly used for a utility purpose. I was told by the Constable (or whetever the feck he's called) during my in-processing that you can't just carry a knife because you might need it for something... If you have a knife, it has to be fully intended to be used as a tool while you have it... I.e., hunting, fishing, camping; if you need one for work, keep it at work; if you're going camping/fishing/hunting/ keep it in your boot (trunk) until you get to your destination, don't carry it on your person.

Yeah, the Brits looked plenty silly and xenophobic until we bailed them out, again.

And they may not have guns or knives, but they have to deal with this:

It is beautiful how life/society finds a way to functuon inspite of the ever increasing machinations of well intentioned do gooders now im reminding myself of 2pac's a rose out of concrete, lol

You're opening a can of worms, Brah..... It's true. I may not find many sympathetic ears on this forum, but recent events make it hard for me to keep my mouth shut. I will leave it at that. If others wish to have a conversation, I'd be happy to DM (though I haven't done it on this forum...that's a option here, right?)

I'm not exactly sure..... But generally, religion, politics and gun laws are off limits, lol! Those things tend to take forums to a dark place
