I came very close to bidding on a pair of SG1109's on Fleabay but sadly, the measurements are just waaaay to tight for me. I thought maybe I could squeeze into them but the thigh measurement comes out to a hair over 11", so basically, they'd look like they were painted on me. If they were 11.5" I could probably manage but 12" is more realistic.
so what's the next step up from the 1109? Is it the 2109? I've never tried unsanforized and was looking at the one wash versions on Rakuten. I'd like to give SG a try but don't really know where to begin. I'm basically looking for something comparable to Gustin's slim fit. Also, are Klax-On's measurements accurate?

Pay attention to how SE measures across the waist, they do it differently.

It's unlike anything in your closet. The fit of the 2109 is something to take caution with, though. It is certainly slim, especially in the lower thigh and knee. The taper starts a bit higher in the leg, than other slim cuts I've tried. Taking into account, I'm a little taller than average(6'2"), that taper starts a little higher on my leg, as well. For comparison, the cut is much like my ST-120x, possibly a touch slimmer.

Probably the most accurate I ordered from Klax-on, using SE specs. They were way off. I don't know if SE has adjusted their specs, recently. But, if they are the same as when I ordered, a few months back, I would caution against it.

yeah, the 2109 is a very strange fit.
i almost want to say they're akin to bell bottoms.

yeah, the 2109 is a very strange fit. i almost want to say they're akin to bell bottoms. that's one of the reasons I was looking at the SG1109. I think the hem for a size 34 comes out to 8" or so and the waist at about 35". A soak should bring those numbers down a little. The pair I'm looking at on Fleabay have already been soaked but the thigh/knee measurements are what worry me. I'm assuming that even if they were tight there would be some stretch after several wears. Again, i've been mulling over this for the past couple of days.

i've worn my 2109s around the house (they were one-wash) and i've gotten no relief in doing so.
granted the 11s are different denim than the 21s, so my experience may not matter but i've been disappointed with the fit.

Definitely a tough break in. With any luck, they'll eventually soften to the point the thigh and knee loosen. Even then, much like my ST, I will have to have the waist taken in.

This is somewhat disappointing as I really wanted to go in on a pair of mud wefts. Is there anything in between the 2105 and 2109 fits? Rake ten doesn't have my size either way, but just for future reference.

This is somewhat disappointing as I really wanted to go in on a pair of mud wefts. Is there anything in between the 2105 and 2109 fits? Rake ten doesn't have my size either way, but just for future reference. From what I've read, the 2105 has the same waist and hip, but is more generous in thigh, knee, and cuff. While deciding on which to back, I opted for the 2109, because of the specs on SE. For size 36, SE has a cuff spec of 10.1 for the 2105. Talk about bells. At the time, the cuff, a and knee specs for the 2109 was 9.1, and 9.3, respectively. I figured with shrinkage, I would get around 8.75 cuff, and 9 knee, which was workable for me. They came at 8.6, and the knee was 8.6, as well. This is why I said take caution with SE specs. Coincidentally, I checked SE specs again, today. They have been adjusted since then. They now list 8.9 knee, and 8.6 cuff for the 2109. But, the 2105 specs have not changed. In hind sight, I wish I had tried the 2105. I'd be willing to bet SE has those specs messed up, as well. That cuff spec is way too big for any brand. Edit: My mistake, those current specs were for the 3109. The 2109 are 9.2 knee, and 8.9 cuff. Still, more generous than what showed up at my door. whiskeyriver has had a similar experience, too.

Decided to bid on the 1109's. I measured my United Stock Dry Goods IxI and these are probably my best fitting. The thigh and knee measurements are pretty close to the post soak measurements in the listing, so with good wear they should stretch out. I'm not too worried if i lose the bid either because i could just buy them directly from Klax On if i want them that bad. Plus, I've got my eye on 3 other pairs.

Does anyone have the 3109 left hand twill they can comment on. In would expect them to be softer?

Do SG's stretch out a fair amount? I've got the 1109's coming to me tomorrow and i know they're gonna be tight sumbitches to get on.

I took delivery of my 1109's today and i really like them. The texture of the denim is very interesting and unlike anything i own. The best part is they fit me perfectly. I had some concerns that getting them on would suck but the seller shrunk them down to the perfect measurements.

Here's a couple of crappy fit pics. Finally got my 1109's hemmed and couldn't be any happier with the fit. The only oddity for me is the hem which seems about .25" bigger than it should be. Other than that these feel amazing.

Spilled coffee on my TSG's twice in the last day. Didn't think these suckers bled that much but the proof is in the pudding

To echo what some of you have experienced with the knees, these bastards are tight, but they're not as painful as I thought they'd be.

Sure the lighter fabric must be making it easier on your knees. I have the 17oz and its pretty rought squatting or bending. The denim is like no other though. Fades electric blue.

Recently purchased the Strike Gold loopwheel indigo dyed sweatshirt, and all I can say is that thing is nice. Unfortunately I'm a little big for the XL and had to sell it off, but it alone convinced me to look into getting a pair of their jeans - so, with that being said, is Rakuten the best place to look for a pair, or should I head straight to Self Edge?
