^ Completely agree. I don't mind the veg tan patch but I'd prefer the deerskin. You guys realize that patch is the result of discussions here, right?

Oh, I thought he meant someone chose a black patch. That's who I meant to slander. I like my Ciano Anniversary as they are, or as I assume they will be when I get them back from a button-hole-ectomy.

When I'm on my phone it's impossible to tell which brand it is in these general discussion threads, so when two brands getting equal coverage on one thread...

Anyone considering a flyer on the Brave Star flannel? I am debating the white/black but honestly, the originality attempt with diagonal pattern on the button-downjust throws it off a little. Maybe for $68 I need to overlook and accept the quality for the price.

False alarm, carry on.

Yes MODS, all General Discussion threads should have the name of the MFG in the thread title. Thanks!

Anyone get a shipping notice on the restock of the Cramerton chinos? They're supposed to be shipped late October. This is as late as October gets.

You mean the 21.5 super heavyweight? I emailed to ask them, and their reply was: "It was purchased from the same supplier that we buy all of our Kurabo/Kuroki from so we are quite certain its Japanese but we can't identify the mill so we left it unsaid." My pair of true straight 21.5oz just arrived today. Fits just as expected, solid material, excellent stitching. My first pair of Brave Star and I'm satisfied, especially for the price.

Thanks for the post. Yes that is what I was referring to. I think you will be very surprised at how much you will end up liking them Any comment on the fabric? Weave? Color? As I've post before I'm looking to pick up another pair of bravestars I have been impressed with the quality. And most importantly the cuts

What's the fit like on the true straight? Based on the pics alone, they look a lot like the Naked and Famous weird guy with a square top block, short fly, and low pockets. But the measurements suggest they are supposed to be like Levi's 504 which is totally different.

As I've post before I'm looking to pick up another pair of bravestars I have been impressed with the quality. And most importantly the cuts The only other "true straight" jeans I have now are 8-year-old Levis 501s. The difference in the fabric between those and brand-new raw heavyweight is so extreme that there's no way to compare the fit. Here's a comparison photo though: Does this count as "short fly and low pockets"? Don't know what to say about weave and color. As you can see it's a deep dark blue. I've never had raw selvedge heavier than maybe 14oz, but this weave isn't supertight. If you look at the stitching on the copper-colored thread, it alternates over and under the denim threads--that can give you some idea of thickness and spacing.

Just a quick post about some outstanding customer service from Mik at Bravestar. I received a pair of Cramerton chinos in June. I liked them. Good cut, great fit, I really liked the flaps on the back pockets. After a few wears, I started to have some weird pulling on the fly. Turns out, the pulling came from the way the pocket bags were sewn into the fly. I sent Mik a couple of pix to see if it was something that could be fixed. He requested I send him the pants back to figure out what was going on. After he received them, he went over them with his pattern maker. Basically he said he couldn't fix it, and that it was just part of the construction, but he offered to send me a brand new pair at no cost at the next restock. He also changed the way the "next generation" of cramerton chinos are made to mitigate the issue that I had. I just got the new pants yesterday and I can see what they did differently on this pair. No pulling so far and I'm optimistic it won't happen again. Mik was super responsive through out the entire (and lengthy) process. I think I'm well stocked on denim for the near future, but when I am ready to buy again, it will be from Bravestar. This is a company I am happy to support and would encourage all forum members to check out what Mik is doing (despite the lackluster website).

I agree and wear those chinos twice a week...the quality comparison to Gustin is almost laughable
i pulled the trigger on a pair of the "shadow selvedge" last week. Very nice...weird that this 35 only is larger the the other 35's i have..so off for a exchange....

I'd like to get the chinos. But Brave Star keeps sending me a promo code for free US shipping but NO discount for overseas shipping. That costs $30. Any discount at all would make it easier to justify making the buy...
